*Official* - Pakistan in New Zealand 2010/2011

McCullum averages 37 now, Jesus christ and has Sangakkara like figures when batting without the gloves.
Will be amazed to see him average 40 tbh. Seemed like only a little while ago he averaged 32ish.

I'm impressed with Wahab. With a little bit more experience (knowing where to put it to set the batsmen up sort of thing) he could be a good bowler for Pakistan

Indeed, his record in the last 12 months, even given the lack of matches, is very impressive. Always saw some serious talent in him, so it's nice to see him making the most of it, and making some big Test runs. Easily my favourite NZ player.

Wahab Riaz looking good, nice smooth action and good pace. Useful short balls keeping Guptill and McCullum on their toes.

Actually feeling pretty good about our line up tbh. Taylor, Ryder, Williamson sounds really good. Especially if Taylor can regain some form. Shame this series is only 2 tests. NZ only played 6 tests last year compared to India's 13 or something .

Who has replaced Umar Akmal in the Pakistan side?

If your going by that logic then there's ALOT of games that are a complete farce. No point in really watching the game tbh
I didn't say the game itself had become a farce, just the UDRS situation in general. By itself it doesn't ruin the cricket (usually).

Don't know why the our NZ commentators are saying Younis Khan is gentle etc. Our opening bowlers find it hard to crack 130 at times

Commentators don't seem to realise that Umar has don sfa since his debut series
Showed plenty of promise in Australia too, even if he didn't get the scores he may hoped for. He's 20 years old and has plenty of potential, and imo, should have been persevered with. He won't be consistent at such a young age and with the cavalier style he possesses, but the best way for this lad to learn is by playing Test cricket, the benefits will be there in the future. I don't always necessarily think that's the best for young players, but he has not looked out of his depth at all or overrawed.

If he was identified as a very talented batsman and one for the future then stick with him for me, unless he gets to a point where he cannot buy a run.

Have to be happy with this start, even if McCullum was very fortunate and Guptill is scoring at a snail's pace.

McCullum has certainly been doing enough over the last few test series to bring me round to his decision to give up the gloves (dropping the Dropkins helps too), though I think a large portion of the NZ public has something against McCullum and will be bitter no matter how many runs he scores.

He's a bit of a prick though

Yeah i think it just hurts the balance of the side and stops us from including someone like Franklin who could really be of a way greater value to the team. Though i will reserve my judgment on Reece Young until he has a decent bat etc.

Watching the ashes atm. Australia might even reach the deficit! with Siddle!

If McCullum kept I reckon we'd just see Watling, How, Flynn, Sinclair or another top-three batsman play, because he wouldn't keep and open at once.

I think it's because he kind of gives off the vibe of an Australian (not the one's playing atm) in that he's good and he knows it. Kiwi's hate this, I've seen it many times in youth cricket when one young fella does well and gets confidence he is seen as a prick and instantly shunned for acknowledging he's done well

It's funny because those same people will then turn around and dribble about how we need to be more like Australia's cricketers (until recently anyway) with a 'killer instinct' and lots of aggression.

Saw the back end of it. Next Bradman?

Maybe we should start a thread about him. Williamson and Milne got a thread before they debuted. What's his name?
