Will never be close to unanimous to be honest, as we've seen from polls on here before. After Bradman, it purely comes down to personal preference whether one prefers Lara, G Pollock, Tendulkar, Sobers, Ponting, G Chappell, Hobbs, Richards, Headley, Hammond etc etc.

They all effectively average between 55-60 and have close to the same ratio of hundreds per innings, so nothing in it. Naturally you'd expect most subcontinental fans to pick Sachin & that's understandable.

Personally, from the little iIve seen & read, I'd pick G Pollock marginally over Lara (because of the way he dominated).

With the greatest respect to him, Bhajii did have some ridiculous luck with the bat against NZ in that series & never looked far away from get out, but continued to lob the ball between fielders when he wasn't hitting boundaries. I didn't see his dismissal, but from the way he bats, he strikes a batsman who relies on more luck than others, so not sure what you expected of him, he ain't no Dravid.

Lol, so true. Bhajji having to bat out time was always a lost cause. If we needed 70 to win, he'd be a decent chance to get them there since he can swing the bat. But batting out time is not his thing.

Strolling in for your second innings with the team needing 270 runs just to make the opposition bat again is pretty much the dictionary definition of a "no-pressure" situation. What difference would it have made if Tendulkar had got out first ball? None whatsoever.
