He has not been doing fantastically well in FC cricket for UP - he is not even playing all the games for them, I'm unsure whether he is being rested or is injured or what, it is all rather perplexing - the same goes for Tyagi who started the season rather well.Where's RP Singh ? I remember him bowling real well in a couple of tests in Australia and in England
Ah, good good. Carry on then. Get a bit defensive over our Morne, he's even seemingly sorted out the no-ball problem he had due to the crease being too small to accommodate his giant stride.Haha I'm obviously not suggesting Praveen is a better bowler than Morkel - Morkel is one of the best bowlers in the world. I was just saying that the factors of his bowling excluding his natural attributes and his athleticism aren't in the same league. Specialist technical bowling skills. Obviously they aren't the only important things though - hence Morkel's vast superiority.

Really surprised Munaf isn't playing. Bowled well in the last Test he played and bowled well in ODIs recently. Ideal third seamer in these conditions. On a serious note, there is a distinct lack of outrage over that selection - it is one of the biggest joke selections that I've ever seen. He didn't even do well at the start of this year's Ranji season, he is literally living off his debut match. Further takes the pressure off Sreesanth who has done **** all for India in Test cricket since the last tour of SA. People like Praveen, RVK, Dhawal, Munaf and Balaji (even Pankaj Singh) must be scratching their heads to ask why they deserve such shoddy treatment in the face of good FC performances.
Haha I'm glad you cracked it, because I just made a list of bowlers I think should have been comfortably picked ahead of Unadkat (who I have been saying is too young for ages):On a serious note, there is a distinct lack of outrage over that selection - it is one of the biggest joke selections that I've ever seen. Really hope he continues on. Promising signs.the same goes for Tyagi who started the season rather well.
He was another pretty talented swing bowler. I rated RP a big higher though, he was slightly quicker and more consistent and dangerousLooks like our bowlers have become way too lazy and they look forward to appear only for ODIs or T20s where they can make some quick money.
I have not seen Irfan appearing for Baroda as well. Dont know whats going on with him either.
You say third seamer, but I'd definitely have him ahead of Sreesanth and Unadkat and be likely to play Munaf and Ishant along side two spinners.Really surprised Munaf isn't playing. Bowled well in the last Test he played and bowled well in ODIs recently. Ideal third seamer in these conditions.
Vinay is very good with the bat, I'd have thought that would have made his Test selection guaranteed. I hope he has a good season this year to put his Test selection beyond doubt. He has only played four matches this year, which concerns me, but in those games, he has three fifties and 14 wickets at 19.14 - that is superb stuff. Pankaj Singh has always been up and around the domestic wicket takers list and seems a consistent performer - he is definitely one to keep an eye on, as he is not a one season wonder like Tyagi (atm), Mithun and Sangwan.Haha I'm glad you cracked it, because I just made a list of bowlers I think should have been comfortably picked ahead of Unadkat (who I have been saying is too young for ages):
Vinay Kumar
Mithun
Pankaj Singh
Praveen
Munaf (even though I hate him)
sooooo unlucky.
It ****s me that Vinay Kumar gets no credit for his first class performances. He is reasonable with the bat on top of being consistently good with the ball in FC cricket.
I see no Test match potential for Mithun, he is slow, inaccurate and doesn't really move the ball. His main weapon is a sharp bouncer, which at 80mph is useless at Test level. Moreover, he is ANOTHER one season wonder. I don't think Irfan Pathan is done, just need for him to come back from injury and see how he does in the rest of the season, especially the Duleep Trophy (if he makes the teams).Look, Sree and Ishant are hardly doing well lately... but Indian cricket is better for Irfan and RP being out of the team.
Mithun has talent, and definitely will be a key prospect in the future of the Indian team. Not sure why he went from playing against SL in SL to not even making the squad. Stupid.
Vinay Kumar and Praveen deserve spots. And Pankaj Singh too.
Irfan Pathan and RP are done. Careers over. They wasted their chances.
Mate, it's just not true at all. Look at their FC performances over the years.Yeah RP Singh > Irfan > Daylight Praveen Kumar
