Rather see him go to WA or Qld tbh, just because there's a bit more in the decks there. If he makes it in those states it would put him in pretty good stead imo.

It's the one admirable thing about Warner. Despite being repeatedly labelled as a 20/20 star he still wants to play test cricket

Agree with this, i originally didn't fancy him too much because i thought he wanted to be a t20 specialist, when i actually saw an interview with him talking about needing to prove himself in real cricket i admired him alot more.

IMO, the only state players that aim to be a specialist 20/20 have failed at the longer formats or simply don't have a chance.

Pleased with the victory today. Victoria scored 214 runs from the second period of 25 overs. Rob Quiney is a superstar when in the mood. Victoria also batted very deep today, I wasn't too concerned after the loss of 4 wickets.

Dan Christian might have some form with the bat, but his bowling figures of late have been horrible in the Ryobi Cup. 12 overs for 2/94 today, and 6 overs for 1/54 on Sunday.

It was good to see someone other then Hodge stand up this match aswell, last few games we've relied on him too much.

Lastly we will finish with Uzzy news.

Things haven't changed for me, which is awesome.

I had to convince three different security guards (at three different locations) in the WACA that I actually was playing for the NSW cricket team.

I think they got their training at airport security.

Speaking of the airport, the air-hostess thought she would be polite and call everybody formally by their last name.

When it was my turn she gave me, “Just to the right of the plane Mr.... ah Sir”. I think she just panicked, it’s really not that hard to pronounce.

Bobby must have been good to watch. Can be super hard to stop; love how tall he stands at the crease, and has very simple movements. Just tends to be caught on the crease a little bit early on.

They really should not have had Fat Dan Smith on the boundary for the last ball. They got lucky

Chris Lynn is the Sam Cassell of cricket?

Mark Sorrell, who is coach of the redbacks hasn't had his contract renewed for next season. Sorrell has resigned from his role as coach immeaditely and won't see out the rest of the season. Jeff Vaughen will coach the team for the rest of the season but Jamie Cox made it clear they on the look for a new coach. Jamie sounded like a bit of a tool when he made the announcement IMO.

Interesting last 3 weeks for SA. The two wins down in Tasmania suprised me, they played really good cricket down there I thought. I had written them off after they lost to Queensland. Even against NSW in the shield game, I thought they played pretty well against a team who SA haven't defeated in yonks in first class cricket. The Ryobi cup game was disappointing to go down like that, but SA played well enough in that game as well. Injuries don't help much either tbf..

Some random thoughts..

- It seems that both the batting and bowling are a bit inconsistent as usual. This season is repeating last season in some ways.

-Harris and Smith have both been dropped for the side. It's a shame because when Smith first came onto the scene he looked very promising.

- Klinger has been below average this season but he has carried the team in the last two seasons anyway.

- Blizzard shouldn't open the batting at all for the Redbacks as he looks much more comfortable in the middle order.

- O'Brien needs to make more substantial contributions in first class cricket with either bat or ball. It's no use taking 2/70 or making 30 odd with the bat all the time.

- Edmondson looked very quick in the shield game that I went to, he looks to be back in some decent bowling form. George's action and run up look a little better then about a month ago.

- Dan Christian, what a ****ing gun!

I ended up going to day 2 of NSW vs SA where Hauritz toned up.
Agreed

The match had everything. A Sublime innings by Khawaja, Maddinson producing a very fine innings which gave us hope for the future, very good bowling from Ben Edmonson, a nice direct hit for a run out early in the innings, an incredible innings by Christian, a few dropped catches including a sitter by Hauritz which could have cost NSW the victory, a century by the skipper Klinger only to get out in an ordinary way and a fantastic last over by Lee and the game was on the line up until the last ball of the 45th over.

I can't believe you think the match was dire, did you even watch it?
Agreed.

On Warner, I reckon he COULD have the tools to succeed at First Class level, but not just yet, he still looks to step back and bludgeon a lot of balls that should be respected getting himself in a bad position to defend. In his defence though that is based on watching him in the shorter form, and no one has been good enough yet to exploit that.

Watched the highlights of the latest Ryobi Cup match between Victoria and South Australia... YYYYYYAAAAAAWWWWWNNN. Flat tracks and big bats kill cricket. When I have to watch Cameron White bat, I hear baby jesus cry. Quiney is not far behind. How they should be able to take good length balls and hit them across the ling into cow corner continuously is some kind of bull****. No wonder we can't produce bowlers when kids turn on the TV and watch hacks like that making runs.

James Faulkner is in incredible form. 3/5 from 5 overs, and he has a run-out too. Innocuous bowler or not, his stats of late have been amazing.
