Because, while Steyn is awesome and Morkel is very good, the depth of fast bowling beyond those two in South Africa actually seems pretty thin at the moment. It's why they play two spinners away from home a lot of the time now. Probably would've played McLaren personally but it's not like he's much of a bowling upgrade.

Is Langeveldt eligible for Tests or just ODIs?

Yeah, well to put it nicely, I don't rate him at all every time I watch him bowl

South Africa have a lot of potential among their reserve bowlers but very little accomplishment. I've got good expectations for Parnell, McLaren, Theron etc but they're all still yet to gain much experience in Tests, and we won't know until they're played.
