*Official* Third Test at the WACA

Son Of Coco

Thought it was a decent ball from Tremlett, but poorly played by Hughes. Tony Grieg currently making out it was an 'absolutely magnificent' ball.

The selectors have too back the boy, surely? If he was the right bloke a week ago (when out of touch, selectors) he's the right bloke now. Horrid, awful, annoying, etc technique tho.

Meanwhile Khawaja has just smacked a creamy ton for NSW in a one dayer v SA.

No 4th slip and an edge. Bit poor from Strauss there.

Nice shot. Do love the carry and bounce in Perth.

Granted I wasn't able to watch his debut series in South Africa last year but Phillip Hughes really doesn't look like a test match opening batsmen, not at this stage of his career anyway.
You have to take Hughes for what he is. He'll never look like a test match opener. He just finds ways to make mountains of runs. Like all batsmen, he'll go through periods where opposition sides will 'work him out', but the challenge is to work on his weaknesses, but definitely not ignore his unique strengths.

He had one fluke test match. That is it.

Tremlett getting a gooch load of bounce. Expected when you're 40 feet tall and bowling on the WACA.

Strauss got higher than Snoop Dogg there.
