Also, it's good to see Henriques finally hitting some form. He has been really disappointing.

He's actually bowled pretty damn well this season; under-bowled really. I suppose it's hard to get a bowl when you have Cameron/Bollinger, Copeland and Clark team, not to mention mandatory overs from Smith. He's not a #6 batsman's ring at this point though IMO.

Queensland are so funny sometimes. Their batting's been a perennial problem for them.. so they've gone into a limited overs game (where they only actually need four bowlers to get through their overs with the rule changes, incidentally) with five specialist bowlers AND two allrounders. On top of that, they bowled one of their batsmen as their fifth bowler in the first twenty overs before one of their bowling and both their allrounders.

And yet still got up for the victory!

Well done coach Hopes. But seriously it's a bit of shame to see Barsby go.

Fitness has been his real problem tbh, had he not had as many injuries as he has had, he might have really developed into a good all-founder by now, but he seems to have re-modeled his action and it seems to be working pretty well for him so far.
As for today's game, another disappointing result for the Warriors and another failure for Pomersbach, the lad has so much talent but its a shame to see such lack of performances from him.

I went to my first domestic game in yonks. I don't see the fascination in the new one day format tbh. It isn't that much more exciting between overs 20-35 than it used to be. It happened last night, and I've noticed it in a few other games that teams are losing a fair amount of wickets in their first 20 overs, so teams are doing a lot of consolidating in that period any way.

I guess the only advantage was that I got there just before 5 and was able to see both teams bat & bowl for a fair amount of overs. Can't think of many more advantages though.

Over 127.6: Cassell to Hauritz, three runs, cut away forward of point. With those three runs Hauritz has the highest score by a night watchman in Shield cricket history
Over 127.5: Cassell to Hauritz, FOUR, driven off the back foot past gully
Over 127.1: Cassell to Hauritz, FOUR, straight drive through mid on

:-O:-O:-O:-O:-O

I'd love to see Hauritz take a 2nd innings bag. Should cement his place in the test side.

I think this is why in the original announcement there was that talk of batsmen being able to bat twice

Good ton by Nevill, he went abit mental there though. you'd think he'd just hit the winning run in an ashes series or world cup final!

Certainly has made a good start to his career. Anyone know much about him?
Nevill's from Victoria, and was stuck behind Crosthwaite and Wade. He went up to NSW a good year or two before Crosthwaite, and has spent a lot of time behind Fatty Smith. Very good gloveman, tends to be a rather robotic batsman who can get tied up easily, and never did all that well for Vic in the 2nd XI stuff.

I hate the current format but doing that would just make it worse. Just play a T20 game and be done with it if you're going to have two 20 over innings.
