TumTum is one of those posters who has made it his goal on this forum to gripe about Smith. A bit like Inbox and his constant hating on Shaun Marsh.

I couldn't care that Smith is bowling some crap. He is the only spinner taking wickets so fair play to him.

I'm not saying he should be bowling like Warne, he should at least be trying to improve.

Every single over he has bowled about 2 half-trackers and 2 full tosses.

He's a 21 year old batting allrounder. You're speaking as if he's a specialist spin bowler. His bowling will improve (providing he keeps working on it, unlike White), saying the youtubeesque rubbish you've just spouted doesn't do anything, or prove anything.

b) No one who knows anything is advocating him as the specialist spinner for Australia

a) If our bowlers and batsman suddenly start performing (unlikely I know), he certainly could.

b) Well there are many posts here suggesting him to bat at #8.

c) He ain't a batsman, just a supremely talented slogger. But as we know he is never going to get picked for his batting alone at the Top 6, so there is no need for me to rant about it.

I don't mind him playing in our LOI side, just keep him the hell away from our Test side.

I'd throw Smith in at 7 moving Haddin up providing that Hauritz, Johnson and Harris are all in the team. To be fair to the guy he did alright in the two tests chances he was given, didn't make a fool of himself. Is a very good field and nobody likes North.

It would make far more sense to dismiss Smith as a hack if it wasn't in the middle of a game in which he has taken 6 of the 14 South Australian wickets. Also adding that he is fighting with Hauritz, Clark, Copeland and Henriques for wickets.

He is so raw. I don't want him in the Test side either until he has another strong season under his belt, but to pretty much write the kid off at 21 makes so little sense. This country doesn't have any youngsters with more upside than Smith, and for what he has achieved thus far in his career is pretty impressive for someone his age.
