This has been England's session. However this is our turf and things can change quickly, even if England could be 2/200 at tea.
Nah, not their session at 2<100. Not really ours either.

Honours fairly even imo. Can't agree with GF really. Cook still tentative outside off, Pietersen's feet seem to be moving well though. Thought Watson the pick of the bowlers quite easily. Doherty to take 3 next seesion.

Decent session.

Going to bed for a bit. Try not to miss me too much.
Corrin doing a Strauss I reckon.

Having a toss then sitting down for the day.

FMD, tough day. Last Question Time for the year at 2 pm. Not sure which way to lean on the office tele tbh.

What? I said it was a fairly even session. I don't think it's unfair to say that Australia haven't put England under a great deal of pressure though, I think there's been about 6 hairy moments in the session.

Bit worried what this pitch might offer for Swann. To be in a really good position we need to bowl them out for 250 I reckon.

I reckon it would have easily been Austrlaia's session had KP not batted as well as he did.

As for the referral, I think it was worthwhile using it - it was a reasonably close call and had it been given England would've been 2 down in the first half hour.
That's precisely why Ponting shouldn't have used it; refer for the real howlers, not the marginals.

So you're awarding the session to Australia based on the fact that 86/4 looks bad, despite Australia rarely threatening?
Dropped catch, a Trott nick fell just short of the slips, Cook clipped one that bounced just in front of North on the leg side, etc...

Pahaha even that was funnier. :p
In amongst the WoW and fantasy book reading, this place is a great judge of a good joke. I'll admit...I took the easy shot, wasn't the best!

I just can't help but twitch a little when someone calls it a 'pull-stroke'...it's the worst of Mark Nicholas brought to life.

Got to say, Cook keeps you interested, doesn't he? Just get a feeling he's going to nick one all the time. Like Katich and being lbw.

Not saying he is, he just gives you that impression.

Normally actually does it pretty early, tbh. He's been North-like in the last couple of years though, which is a bad sign really.

Still not being offered enough full deliveries outside the off-stump.

The way the system works though, you can afford to use one for a speculative decision early on in an innings, with another in the bank for a shocker - if teams were allowed just one incorrect decision I'd certainly agree that it would've been a waste to have referred the Trott lbw.
