How quick? Can he be a strike bowler like Jerome Taylor?
I've never seen him bowl, but apparently so. Genuinely impressed on a few tours with West Indies A. I'm really looking forward to the West Indies bowling innings for exactly this reason.

wow....didn't know that either........always seems to be wasting his talent Chris Gayle....could be a great player with a little more application

I dont know, he seems like a player like Jayasuriya. Has the ability to score massive knocks but might go out for a below par score every now and then as well. Thats just the way his game is. I think its the rest of the team that haven't been up to par for them so far. Certainly this might be a great opportunity to change things though.

Wonder what kind of captain Sammy will prove to be. I'm guessing the Windies will want to score 550

Congrats GAYLE!

Madness that SL have just gone to Australia to play 3 ODI's a week before a Test Series at home and are resting the best quick Malinga so he doesn't get injured for the ODI World Cup.

Agree completely. I think they were dying for an away series that didn't involve India though so I dont blame them for having the ODI series when they did.

Yeah hindsight is a wonderful thing though I guess. If SL bat first, they too could have been in a dominant position and I wouldn't have made my comment. I have no idea what the conditions were like, I've been following the other 2 Tests!
