Haha. That abomination is why Benoit vs. Angle is so good. The crowd was DEAD after that 20 minute crapfest, and Angle vs. Benoit lifted the crowd to their feet. Was amazing.

Was seeing the HBK vs. HHH street fight match again in Summer Slam '02. What a match. The best I've seen.
It is a classic. To think shawn hadn't wrestled for four and a half years too.

If Shawn never came back I would have him much lower in the ATG stakes. As it is, every episode of Impact bumps Shawn a bit closer to number one in my eyes.

Yeah see sometimes there are matches 'marks' love but 'smart' fans turn their nose up, and vice versa. Then you get matches like those two and you get a consensus.

What amazes me is that HHH and Steiner had a rematch the following month.

Read a funny story once (might have even been in this thread) where apparently they rang Steiner to do a drugs test, and he responded that he would go with Triple H.

I however fully believe HHH never took steroids and that he worked really hard to build his strength up between 98 and 99. Now hurry up and come back big guy, three more world titles and you're level with Naitch

Wow I just saw that PWI rated Lesnar vs. Angle Iron Man Match on Smackdown as the best match of 2003. It had Angle vs. Benoit at 3rd.

Strongly disagree with that.

It had Michaels vs. Jericho from Wrestlemania ahead as well, which I also disagree with, but that's because I hate the finish of the match
Pretty much the best TV match I've ever seen tbh. Was just so good. Might watch it tonight again actually.

Trying to think what other matches would rank amongst the best I have ever seen on RAW/SD. Austin vs Benoit from Edmonton in 2001 was pretty insane. TLC 3 and TLC 4 were both pretty awesome too. Jericho and Benoit vs Austin and HHH another one. Remember that every main events around WM 2000 and a few months of PPVs either side was always top drawer as well. Always seemed to inevitably the Rock and/or Mick Foley involved in some sort of 6 man tag or something, had me glued to the TV.

Benoit vs. Angle in a cage on Smackdown a good shout as well.

The moonsault from the top of the cage :-O

Angle vs Taker on Smackdown in 2003 (iirc) was pretty great as well. Definitely a PPV quality match up. Shame it ended with Lesnar interfering, WAC.

Whenever I think of Moonsaults I just think of Hardcore Holly getting his arm broken, couldn't have happened to a nicer/more intelligent man. Kurt WAG.

Can't remember the year or the event because it was ages ago, but the match where HHH pedigreed Foley from the top of the cell wearing a yellow undie was a great match.

Pretty much every match with Benoit was awesome. Don't really relish post '03 Taker that match. Same with Hogan.

The submission-only match between Bret Hart and Austin is probably the best from a pure wrestling POV that I've seen.(WM 13)

Caught some of the Buried-alive match the other day. Reminded me of this Yokozuna vs taker match I've seen on DVD at a friend's place ages ago.

Ima start watching WWE again, My interest started reducing as Cena started to become a main-eventer, always detested him and his stupid wrestling style.

Speaking of moonsaults, remember Humorous Hugh Morrus and his "No laughing matter moonsault"? Wag.

Looked like such a badass when he came out in those jeans. He was limited, but could have been made into a very credible upper card player.

Just looked it up, it was Royal Rumble 2004 when he had a title shot against Lesnar (made a kayfabe feud out of the legit breaking of his neck by Lesnar).

That was one mother of a squash for a PPV world title match.
