English national football, where do we go from here?

They are just ****. Less said about Kevin Davies, Ashley Young, SWP et cetera the better but Gerrard, Lampard, and Ferdinand should just **** off. They should not be given another chance for abject failure in the Ukraine and Poland.
What's Ferdinand done wrong? Was good out there.

SWP though? Summed up when he was running down the left and there was clear space for a through ball to the centre for Rooney who was wide open but he was blind and just ran and passed straight to the England player in front of him. No intelligence.

To be fair, you can't blame Fat Frank for last night.

What got me was how the right side was where any good attacking stuff came, so they kept passing it left.

Actually misread that. Been better than Cole and Lennon. The others would be more deserving.
Not in an England shirt he hasn't, he's still not done anything of note for England so has to go to the back of the queue following last night's "performance"

Why on earth they kept letting him take set pieces I'll never know - as soon as Gerrard was allowed one the delivery was so much better.

Ferdinand had absolutely nothing to do all night, so could hardly do anything wrong. Not happy that he's automatically been named as one of a centre back pairing if fit, although I suppose the if fit thing means someone like Jagielka or Cahill will get more opportunities.

Overreaction by the England fans here. Montenegro are no mugs and are very solid in defence. Having said that there were a few chances England should have put away. Namely the Gerrard ball for Rooney to leave him with only the keeper to beat.

Agree with Ikki in that I can't see what all the fuss is about tbh.
It was more the manner of the performance (something I'd imagine Ikki knows something about, considering he's been whining about Liverpool all season for the same reason), then the result.

No guile, no intelligence, poor possession, a very limited performance, Wilshire should of got a game. Rooney needed to be rested, oh and:

WTF
SWP

As was the case with Adam Johnson, it looks like Capello will only twig on to how good Jack Wilshere is several months after the rest of the country.

Capello's love of older, rubbish players over younger players is very frustrating. You have to pick the best players regardless of age. Fabio just seems to pick older players for the sake of it.

Anyway a draw is only a bad result if it's followed up by lots of dropped points elsewhere. England shouldn't really have any problem problem getting automatic qualification.

I watched the match, the performance wasn't near as disastrous as is being painted. Had England taken their chances (they should have gotten a penalty and Montenegro lucky to not have a player sent off also) it would have been a match you'd describe as a "tidy victory". Montenegro barely threatened and while England could have been better it was the last ball that they were getting wrong. Having said that they had enough chances. Wasn't terrible result or performance-wise and certainly not possession-wise (65% to England). Montenegro's keeper had 2-3 really world class saves.

I would have tested Wilshire too and I don't know about Capello's fascination with SWP.

Actually glad Wilshere had the night off. Played every single game for us this season so probably needed a rest. Our gain, England's loss. Makes a pleasant change with internationals.

Not sure exactly what he could've changed with the available players though.
Could have tried making the wingers switch flanks or the fullbacks go past the halfway line or Gerrard not play in front of the defence, etc. Plenty he could have done.

Has this Dier guy actually even played a competitive professional match in his life? If not then it's far far to be seriously considering him to be a top prospect.
