*Official* New Zealand in Bangladesh 2010

Im trying to figure out whether you are a troll or a typical knee jerker who will say this is a great NZ team the next time we win
If we can prove ourselves then I will change my tone. But at the moment these performances are unacceptable.

Am I the only one disgusted that we're getting absolutely dominated by Bangladesh? They're going to win by 10 wickets. This has to be our most embarrassing ODI performance ever surely?

Nah, more important records to break. Get the 10 wicket victory which would also be their highest opening stand in ODIs and Bangladesh's second highest partnership by runs in ODIs.

I think it's both. Bangladesh are a better side than us. We're lucky they cancelled the test because we would have lost that too and this series woulda been a 2-0 win.
No they're not, don't talk rubbish. Almost a year ago to the day, we were in the final of the CT in difficult SA conditions, beat Pakistan in neutral conditions and had a good ODI series v Australia in March, and we it did with virtually the same side that's on the paddock today. These two losses are down to a combination of spineless performances, poor selection, injury and lack of practice. Well done to Bangladesh, they've deserved to win today, but they're not a better side, and we shouldn't use that as an excuse to exonerate the players for such a pathetic effort.

We have been ranked second in the world in ODIs in the last six months, so we shouldn't overreact to two losses to an improving and hugely talented Bangladesh side in their favoured conditions.

Yes but as is oft pointed out whenever this argument is raised, Bangladesh aren't really improving that much. These two performances have been extraordinary in there awfulness. Have we EVER lost back to back against a genuine minnow like this? Even when Zimbabwe beat us in an ODI series before they weren't really minnows.

Taylor's having a bowl. The Bangladeshi batsmen must be quivering now! Fearsome stuff.

So....this isn't going exactly to plan...

Good stuff from Bangladesh. Mud on our face but we'll be a lot better for it.

The batsmen could benefit from watching videos of Fleming, Styris and Parore against spin too.

Guptill depends on the back foot.

You do know he is the epitome of front foot hero right?

Perhaps, but I don't like our chances in the World Cup. We have a lot of improvement to do in terms of batting in subcontinent conditions, and we have sweet **** all time to do it in.

Wouldn't be bothered at all by these subcontinental shortcomings if the 2011 WC were to be held in Australia and NZ, as the hosting pattern suggests it should have been...

This series to NZ probably doesn't mean much but to Bangladesh, it's huge for them. People have always stated how strong they are at home, but they've never won a series against the top sides to prove it.

Jamie Siddons is starting to mould Bangladesh into a competitive outfit, but they need series victories to back him up, and finally this looks like being one.

They'll win a few games at the WC, mark my words.

Well yeah unless the batsmen learn fast we're not going to win. We'll be all right against non subcontinent teams but the subcontinent sides should rip us to pieces with the possible exception of Pakistan, who are far too unpredictable and we don't even know what their side will be it's that chaotic.

Lollin' at irrotev tonight. Having a howler on two forums. Possibly three if I cared to read PlanetCricket.

EDIT: When I said it would be good for us I meant long term. WC is just around the corner.

Well, I'm completely embarrassed. Elliot looks utter, utter crap. Tries some pitiful defense and gets out. Stewart; what are you there for?

Might as well just chuck Williamson in, Watling seems to be doing ok, at least he has the excuse of international experience to fall back on.

Credit where credit is due, Bangers are bringing their game this series.

What a pathetic NZ display.
