Ponting looking really solid here. Husseys getting the runs, but thats mainly because of poor field settings, not sure what Dhoni is trying.

Bhajji better not be injured

Ponting needs to calm down TBH. Some very intemperate shots recently.

Might've given Zak a little dash before tea to see if the ball's reversing at all now.

Positive stroke from Hussey but only just clears the man at deepish mid off.

I really like what Hussey is doing here though, in being aggressive. Its exactly the opposite of what he did last time, and hopefully he'll get the opposite result.

Yeah, they've just started to get a bit too aggressive here. Kind of what India was doing after reaching 350 in the first innings in Mohali, and we all know how that turned out.

Singles are going good, but those forced boundaries are maybe a bit too risky at this stage, unless all they want to is push the field back

Well if that was the idea they've certainly succeeded.

Yeah, agreed. At least this way if he gets a good one he'll have made the runs his time at the crease should warrant. Got totally set on occupation last time.

Gilchrist:

"The one team that is a long way ahead of any other team is India, and deservedly so, is the number one ranking Test side in the world."

Definately don't agree with Gilchrist's comments here. It would be easy to come to that conclusion based on tests played soley on the subcontinent, because the wickets there really favour teams with:

1. Strong batting line ups
2. Good spinners

I.e., the subcontinent is tailor made for Indian cricket. For India to really assert their dominance they need to first win an outside series in Aus, SA or Eng.

That being said, though, the same applies to Aus. Unfortunately, the best result we can hope for in this 'series' is only a draw.

To be fair, with Zak and Sree India are pretty well equipped for English and New Zealand conditions too.

Long way ahead is a stretch tho, yeah.
