Dire shot to a not-that-much ball. Mitch would be impressed. Sharp catch but.

Horrible stuff from Hussey

Scorecard looking all too familiar for Australia - lots of starts, no-one going on as yet

Nah, was useful up here last time. Massive *****, obvz. But swings it at fair lick.

Ooops. D'oh. Ordinary shot from Huss.

*He is a, not has a
hehe thanks for the disclaimer, out of context that sentence would raise a few eyebrows:

"Massive *****, obvz. But swings it at fair lick."

North for the good of the country, plz get out quickly!
See I'm not even convinced he'll get the chop if he fails again.

Oooo. Edge brings up 50 for the skipper. Needs to go on here.

& follows it up with an althogether more convincing boundary. Rank long hop from Harbhajan.

Nor am I TBH. The selectors aren't pressuring him at all WRT replacements which would indicate it's not high on their watchlist. Or at least as high as we all would like.

Ooh wow. Sharp work but really should've made a better fist of that. Close range, all three to aim at and he misses by at least a metre.

Ponting needs to get a BIG century here to break the trend of top/middle order collapses.

Ponting looks in prime form

Having said that, he's looked in prime form for much of the past 18 months as well so doesnt mean much

Ugh. North's balance looks so dire around off stump, can't keep still at all. Almost fell over leaving one that over.

Quietly hoping north just occupies the crease (so Ponting can carve up, and we don't collapse etc. etc.) till he slowly gets to 19, then gets out.

Nor asking for much or anything...

Well, I spose you've got to feel for the guy somewhat, after failing so many times the pressure must get pretty overwhelming.

Will say though that the signs are there. He's in with a well-set aggressive driving right-hander (usually Clarke or Haddin, but this time Ponting) and has got his drive out early.
