Apart from the odd improvement here and there, a proper wicket-taking seam bowler threat is the last piece in the jigsaw for England's ODI World Cup campaign. The batting isn't going to be that flash, but this side is going to bowl teams out pretty often.

Would definitely have Shahzad in for Bresnan. A much more potent threat with the ball IMO. Can also hand a bat as well, though I've not seen enough of him to know whether he can match Bresnan's lusty blows at the death.
Regardless, the improvement in the bowling would more than compensate.

Is a shame that no real bowler has torn up the domestic scene and thrust their name forward. James Kirtley, Stephen Patterson, the only other English bowlers to take more than 20 List A wickets.

Exactly,Bresnan is the better bat,but he's the opening bowler, so that should be a bonus anyway,but Shahzad is faster and generally a more threatening bowler.
