In Australia for the Bushrangers, he was regularly given a lot of tap. His batting was quality but his bowling just wasn't up to it.

Indeed. He's done reasonably well for most other teams, Mumbai included, but his performance for Victoria has been quite bad. He's also played more matches than he has taken wickets, and his economy over eight may not please too many.

He's not much of a strike bowler, but one a team and captain is willing to risk because of his versatility. One's enough, but any more, well, if you're game for it.

Pollard is a madman! He is finally aquiring some sort of consistency, starting with Somerset and continuing here. There are a lot of overrated T20 cricketers, in this era of high IPL prices, but Pollard is definitely not one of them. His bowling and the sheer match winning ability of his batting means he is worth pretty much every penny, regardless of what you pay for him.

Very good indication today that MI simply have to allow Pollard the chance to spend time at the crease before unleashing his big shots. He was awesome today, some amazingly powerful strokes, there is nobody surely in world cricket that hits a cricket as hard as this man.

I'm a big fan of Pollard and sincerely hope he can take this into the other forms of the game, and develop his batting in the longer formats.

Sachin finally bats Pollard high in the batting order, and look what happens.

Good stuff.

Seriously think that his consistency in this format has been long underrated, it's just the circumstances of when he comes in, with teams holding him off till late, make it hard for him at times. He was excellent for SA before his season in England, and was very good as well for T&T in last year's CL.

He is a pie chucker of the highest order. Still waiting for Pollard to do something on the big stage i.e. for the West Indies, the Zimbabwean spinners were all too much for him.

Looks it but he's quite a smart bowler. Tough to get away (mainly due to height I reckon) despite having the mind-blowing pace of Chris Harris and is good at drawing shots the batters generally walk away kicking themselves for.

To be fair, I think he also was the topscorer in last winter's Big Bash in Australia....

Think Bravo's a massive risk in T20 cricket for four overs.
Yeah, his bowling in 20/20 cricket recently has been poor recently, and he started his first over badkly....

But it was good to see him finish with 2-18 from three overs. It's just possible that his bowling is getting back to the form we know he has.

Yep, pitch definitely holding up a bit. Tait not up to 150 yet and a leg-slip in place. Ordinary shot from Pandey, though.

Changed my mind about SA's chances in light of the deck, tbh. A slow deck the equaliser and with Adelaide being similarly slow these days, fancy their chances.
