That would be a shame, but what more is there to do with the angle. These people have achieved main event status at Summerslam. They have beaten up Cena, they have attacked legends and Barrett is now (semi) credibly in the main event scene. A genuine question is where to go now for over two months?

With Sheffield, I'm unsure why he can't just adopt a backstage role in the group and stand outside during matches. Being injured doesn't mean you have to be written off, Eddie Guerrero had an arm in a sling for much of the Radicalz angle but still was a key character on TV until it healed.

Sheamus didn't get high profile wins before he won the title, but he did wrestle for a while on ECW. Wrestling a few matches on NXT and Sheamus wrestling for several months on ECW against Goldust, Shelton Benjamin, and getting to crush a few jobbers is much more in ring preparation than Barrett has had.

I think the WWE screwed up by having Barrett Vs Cena on Raw (Beat the Clock, I believe) before the Nexus thing kicked off - it could have been a good thing to see Barrett with so much momentum go up against Cena for the first time.

Nah, the beat the clock challenge is irrelevant and won't affect their first proper meeting.

But what should they do from here? There is six of them now that Young is gone: Sheffield is injured, Tarver and Otunga can't wrestle, Gabriel and Slater are okay in the ring but lack character and Barrett is awesome, as has been established.

Personally think they should defiintely keep Nexus around for a while longer. I think some sort of involvement between them and NXT season two rookies would be a good way to go, as it would be a good way to bring the second season guys over to the main roster without putting them up against the more established wrestlers. Despite being awesome and having had a main event level run the Nexus are still essentially new guys and a feud between them and some of the season 2 rookies would be a good way to build reputations on both sides. I think it was GIMH who mentioned bringing new guys into the Nexus, just as an example based on what's gone on with the storyline they could easily bring in the Miz to work with them and target Daniel Bryan, who could then recruit the season 2 guys to have a faction v faction thing. Although, this is mostly just because the idea of a Bryan and Kaval tag team is something I would definitely love to see.

Former WWE performer Luna Vachon was found dead this morning at her mothers home. She was just 48 years old.

She was staying with her mother after her own home was recently burned down in a fire.

Those are the only details available at the moment.

She is survived by her two sons.

Bit grim.

That is seriously dire. It's actually pretty worrying that it actually appears to be legal in the USA for an employer to contract themselves out of this sort of liability.

Very sad news about Luna Vachon. She was a really interesting performer who was very entertaining at a time where the wrestling industry was very different than it is today.

You can see why they do it though. Wrestlers are classed as independent contractors and the profession is very physical and can be quite risky. I guess it's just their way of saying that anything that happens to you is part of the job and we as a company are not going to be responsible for it.

Either way it's a pretty poor thing to have in a contract. Certainly in other occupations, whether you are a builder, a mechanic or even in white collar professions like accounting, medicine and engineering if you are injured at work then the employer is liable.

I don't think though that WWE or TNA would ever offer compensation or accept liability over injuries or deaths because sadly it seems like it's just part of the profession.

Oh yeah, can't say I really blame the WWE for taking this approach. It will doubtless save them huge amounts of money on litigation and probable legal ****storms. It's just massively dire that in the USA it is actually possible to make these sorts of contracts. Makes me glad to live in a commonwealth country tbh.
