3rd Test: England v Australia at Leeds, Jun 29-Jul 1, 1899 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com

Honest Hunks so far:

-
-
Wally Hammond - 7249 runs @ 58, 83 wickets @ 38
-
-
-
Richard Hadlee - 3124 runs @ 27, 431 wickets @ 22
-
-
Johnny Briggs - 815 runs @ 19 (with a test hundred), 118 wickets @ 18

About Hammond:
He was a superb fast-medium bowler who often, as Sir Donald Bradman once remarked, "was too busy scoring
runs to worry about bowling." When he was roused - as he once was by Essex bowling bouncers at the
Gloucestershire batsmen - his pace could be devastating. "I never saw a man bowl faster for Gloucestershire
than Wally did that day," said Tom Goddard, "and he not only battered them, he bowled them out as well."

Love that I got my spinner locked so soon and a damn good one at that. I mean, averaging 18 as a slow left armer, WTH.. Love that he has a test 100 too. :)

Eyes not spreadsheets
Will try to look at lunchtime, if not it'll be after work for my pick, so you can all take a time out!

Cricketer Of The Year
I was hoping Briggs might be left and I'd have a chance at collecting him - hoping for a good scorecard from Marc now so I'm not left with too few choices!

The move back to the post world war 1 era would be interesting , and a move back to the post world war 2 era would probably mean we are not coming back in the pre ww1 era again.

International 12th Man
Tough era this..
I think it's mostly due to the cannot pick a player from the same scorecard rule. There are still a couple of great and quite a few very good players from that era left to be chosen, but considering the majority of test cricket was between just two teams it's difficult for them to be selected.

Yeah I have my eye on a couple of them but there's every chance that I wont get to pick them. Either way, would be good to move forward in time.

True...sympathies with marc71178, he had a really tough scorecard to play with...
