*Official* Bangladesh in England

England didn't even have their best batsman playing!
I'm presuming you're referring to Pietersen?

Since the world cup he's barely in England's top 3 ODI bats, nevermind best batsman.

Since 2007, Paul Collingwood has been England's best ODI bat by miles.

Yeah Pietersen has plumbed rare depths of awfulness in ODIs recently. His saving grace is that he usually "looks" good and scores quickly (but briefly) so it doesn't get that much attention compared to others in similar positions.

And when I mean rare... you have to go back to 2008 to see a KP ODI 50.

I was thinking of posting the exact same thing when I went to bed last night

Anyways Eoin Morgan is England's best ODI batsmen atm. But Bell is their best against Bangladesh.

What team do you reckon England'll put out today then? I'd like to see Bopara come into the side, but I get the feeling England will play Tredwell instead. Not a huge fan of Tredwell TBH, and can't really work out why he's being picked as Englands back-up spinner. He hasn't taken a wicket in OD cricket this season and is then averaging over 30 in T20 cricket. Surely Rashid would be a far better option? Not only right now, but for the future too? Ravi also seems to be a bit of a golden arm with the ball ATM too, he's been taking heaps of wickets in the Lions games against the touring sides, and would probably end up bowling as many overs as Tredwell judging by his first game of this series.

 Nasser ripping into Ravi, comparing him to Nick Knight, calling him 'a bit dopey'. Brilliant, Nick's face was a picture.

At last. England batting first. Has been a long time coming, really didn't want to see us fielding first again, even though the conditions appear conducive to seam bowling early up.

Ravi in for Bell and Bresnan in for Anderson. Bat all the way down to 11 now then, just hope Bresnan bowls better than he has earlier in the series. The line-up is:

Strauss
Kieswetter
Trott
Collingwood
Morgan
Bopara
Yardy
Wright
Bresnan
Broad
Shahzad

Would prefer to see Ravi get some time in the middle and bat 3 or 4, but not too fussed. Just hope he gets in.

Bangladesh name an unchanged squad.. Idiots should have dropped Ashra'fool' and picked Naeem who is a useful bowler who can bat a bit

I have this convoluted desire for Kieswetter to do well so he's constantly vindicating himself for the demolition job he did of Australia in the t20wc final. Sadface.

TBF to Kieswetter, he has recieved some bloody good deliveries this summer. The Tait out-swinging full delivery was a beauty, Hazlewood got one to nip back and keep low, Harris bowled one that niped back a considerable distance and that delivery from Mashrafe was very good. I think we need to stick with Kieswetter for at least 1 more series.

Shows how much they missed Mashrafe Mortaza while he was injured. He's a class above their other pace bowlers.

Atherton summed it up perfectly, Keiswetter's technique is suspect in English conditions, except on the odd road.

Sounds like Vaughan in his later years. Bowl anything quick and that straightens and he'd make it look unplayable.
