Liking this from Trott. Was worried when he was in the late 20's and 30's that we were going to end up seeing him end his innings striking in the 60's or early 70's, but he's begun to accelerate nicely. He's picking off the singles with regularity and is starting to find the boundaries. Starting to build a nice partnership these 2.

What? Strauss doing a switch-forward-defence?

And lol, did that bloke just nick the ball?

Century for Strauss, been a fine knock. Took time to get used to the conditions early and has accelerated beautifully as it's gone on. Should take the Batting PP next over for sure.

Yum yum. Buffet bowling. Strauss helping himself.

Trott is pretty bloody incredible at that backfoot midwicket whip/drive.

Batting PPlay called.

Forgive my ignorance, but is there also a bowling PPlay to come, or has that already been taken?

Hundred up for Trott too. Superb innings. Accelerated through the gears brilliantly, and ultimately proved me wrong. Still don't rate his innings of 2 days ago, but this has been a fine knock. Magnificent partnership between these 2 also, they've batted beautifully.

Jeez, didn't realise Trott was such a Devonhead..

Nasser channelling the spirit of Michael Clarke here, suggesting two batsmen on 100 each shouldn't try to go beserk in a power play.

Can't believe people think he's intelligent.

Don't think he's saying don't go beserk, he's saying don't play stupid shots.

Play shots like that last drive.

Mashrafe a one-man-team here.

Strauss taking responsiiblity to make sure we don't lose to substandard opposition again, three times in four games is just too many

Speaking of channeling.

Bumble channeling Ponting here.
Haha, bull****. Nasser's still trying to justify the worst sending in of an opposition ever, nearly eight years on.

"I wuz gunna bat, but my team wuz scared". Gagfc, you're the captain, show some balls.

And before any **** says "what about Edgbaston?" Australia took 10 wickets day one there and lost by 2 mints, I mean runs. In Brisbane 02-03, Australia was 2 for 8000 at stumps day one and won with a leg in the air..

Brisbane - agreed
Edgbaston - like it'd have even been close if England were batting 4th? One of the two reasons why a generation of English fans are eternally grateful to Ponting.

The main difference afaics is that the result in Brisbane wasn't seriously affected by Nasser's bad call, whereas at Edgbaston ...

Oh sure, was the wrong decision granted. But compared with Nasser in Brisbane, Ricky was Richie Benaud and Ian Chappell combined.
