Beautiful off drive from Punter that. Came down the pitch to make it a half-volley and straight down the ground all along the floor. As Blewett just said, looks the shot of a bloke in touch.
Just warming up for a 500+ run series down under.

EDIT:

16.6

Broad to Ponting, OUT, 141.1 kph, short again, and that's the big breakthrough that England needed! An attempted pull, but Ponting muffs his signature stroke, and lobs a simple chance almost off the back of his bat, straight through to Kieswetter!
I dunno, the attempted pull and subsequent skier seems to be his signature out these days so I'd say he played it perfectly. Shot of a man in form.

My flagrant jinxing attempt seemed to work a treat tho, tbf.

8 runs off Wright's first over. Hmmm.

Damm, Ponting gone and he was looking decent. I Reckon Ponting was just in two minds there to hook or pull really fine on the legside. Strange shot, looks like he might of slipped as well.

Think you have to give some credit to Broad's delivery too. Really climbed and seemed to come back into Punter too. Obviously didn't play it well, but was a top nut. Fair to say the pull usually a strength of his.

& lol. KP living the dream; throws the ball straight at Wright and smacks him square in the back.

Could Tim Paine be any more......ummmm........what's a word to describing watching his batting right now?

Agreed. Broad has been bowling excellent this series and Ponting probably should have put the shot away for a while when Broad was bowling, his short balls have been spot on. There was one ball to drinks and then a possible bowling change.

Marsh not opening seems a bit odd given it's his specialist position. Seems to be something of an unwritten rule that keepers open in limited overs now.
Quoting self never less than wanky, but standing by my point.

Especially with Marsh now coming in no higher than #5.

Broad all over Paine here, it must be said. 93.3mph that last ball too, good heat from Chris jr. Ooo, and Paine spoons next one up just short of gully. Right off shoulder of bat.

 What was that shot from Paine? It seems the longer he bats, the worse he plays. Probably better for England that he's still there too. Let him use up as many deliveries as he likes.

Marsh isn't as much of an opener as you think. His preferred position is #3. He's generally opened when he's played for Australia because that's where the spot was and he's opened a fair bit for Western Australia in one day cricket for a couple of reasons (firstly because they were short of openers and secondly to push his claim for Australian honours) but to say opening is his "specialist position" wouldn't be correct.

Paine still batting after 25 overs makes my inner child weep. And he's had a tough time of late. Paine you asshole.

Wow.

Paine making Clarke look the ODI god here - an achievement (being slightly facetious here but you get the point).

Bahahaha, what a way to get out - bowled doing a reverse sweep

Tame end to a poor innings that. For Australia's sake I'd hope that's the last we see of Tim Paine in ODI's for a quite some time. Nowhere near good enough.
