*Official* Australia in England

Wouldn't be suprised if England rested a few players for todays game. Expecting the same side for the Aussies, Johnson may come in for Hopes. Hopefully.

Is Johnson even in the squad? I was under the impression he'd been rested from the entire series.

****, so when we bat first, it's at a reasonable time, nein advertise it for 7:30...and they put on a movie.

At least it's an Adam Sandler movie.

That's a good thing?

Been easily Bresnan's best spell of the series so far this one. Not looking like he's going to rip through them, but keeping it tight, getting a bit of movement off the deck and bowling a pretty tight line and length. Good stuff, making the most of the early conditions, just need to turn the pressure into wickets now.

He was originally but he made himself available to play the day before the last game.

Bit strange that Shaun Marsh is in for Micheal Clarke and Marsh isn't opening the batting, he would do a much better job than Paine.

Bresnan bowling quite well so far.

Be interesting to see how Oz go without Clarke. Fair to say I've detected a groundswell of support for his omission amongst their followers on CW,

Marsh not opening seems a bit odd given it's his specialist position. Seems to be something of an unwritten rule that keepers open in limited overs now.

Was also interesting to hear Athers suggesting something not dissimilar to T_C's argument about Tait being able to bowl quickly because he goes balls-out for short bursts (I paraphrase) rather than having to bowl 25 overs a day in tests.

Doesn't seem like we're missing much at the moment tbh.
Indeed. Watchful stuff. Pitch slightly two paced to my eye; most carrying through at a good height but a couple have held up in it. Not a hint of swing from any of the bowlers tho, but some seam off the wicket.

Interesting stat Bumble just came out with; this is Strauss's 13th ODI as skipper versus Oz, a new record for England. Anyone care to guess whose record he broke?

Well, anyone not watching on Sky, obvz. :p

If we just keep wickets in hand, we'll be able to launch in the final 15 overs.

Oh wait....
Lol. Though White, Smith and Hussey may well be able to do that.

Silly really, Watson didn't look as good today trying to be careful and then ended up playing a silly shot when he got bogged down. Surely it's better if he scores a quick 50?

Beautiful off drive from Punter that. Came down the pitch to make it a half-volley and straight down the ground all along the floor. As Blewett just said, looks the shot of a bloke in touch.

Ponting gone to another short delivery. This has been a very good spell from Broad, he's been superb for us in ODi cricket for about 3 years now.
