Great result for Kimiko. She's exceeded all expectations since her comeback last year (I think), but amazing win. World No. 4 back in 1995 then the huge hiatus. Awesome.

Yeah I laid Gasquet when he was 2 sets and a break, but for no risk profit. Figured he'd get over the line.

As much as I struggle to rate Safina at times, thats an unbelivable upset. I remember Date Krumm playing in Auckland at the start of the year, would never have picked her to defeat a player currently ranked in the top four.
Just on the side, what happened to our prediction tipping for the French Open this year?

I cannot believe what I have just seen between Monfils and Fognini.
I am going to copy/paste an email I sent some mates because I can't be bothered typing what I just saw again, and its 6:05am and I haven't slept.

Boys, you'll both appreciate this. Shaun I'm not sure if you were watching this in France.
Monfils is up a two sets and a break against Fognini. Just like in the first round, he lets his opponent back into the set and Fognini takes the 3rd.
Then Monfils is 4-1 up, double break, and lets Fognini win the next 5 games to take the match into a fifth set.
Then Monfils goes down 0-3, meaning he'd lost the last 8 games! He then is serving and down another break point to make it 0-4. He manages to hold to make it 1-3. Then Fognini chokes, and the crowd start roaring and cheering his double faults (so dog by the French, but hilarious). Monfils breaks, holds, Fognini holds and Monfils holds to make it 4-4 in the fifth.
Then the match referee walks onto the court as the light is getting ridiculously dark. Monfils wants to play, Fognini wants off. The decision is that they'll play, and Fognini gets cut and his coach's box yell at him to walk off. Fognini stumbles around complaining to the umpire and referee what not, and as a huge whinge. Monfils starts getting angry and yelling at him. All the while the crowd are booing the **** out of him. Its like a Davis Cup atmosphere!
Fognini keeps complaining to the umpire and the umpire says its a code violation and awards a point against Fognini, so he starts the game 0-15 down! Fognini then faces break points in the game, but saves them, including hitting a ball straight at Monfils. Crowd get cut again. By now its ridiculously dark but you have to stop play at an even number of games apparently, so Monfils has to serve out one more game.
At 4-5 Monfils is serving and goes down 15-40, he saves two match points. He then begins to cramp in his leg and starts serving slow as ****. Around 120km/h. He saves another match point, and ends up holding to make it 5-5 in the fifth. Play is then suspended for bad light.
Fognini then abuses the crap at the referee.
Without a doubt the craziest **** I've seen on a tennis court ever.

Sharapova up a break in the 2nd!
