Haha, d'oh - I didn't pick up on it either and then used it myself to reply. And yes, before some smart**** comes in, I know there's XV players in a rugby team...
No. Bulls in 2002 went winless. Will Lions be the first team in S12/14 history to not win a game all season?
Dissapointing. Resting a few key players i could understand but pretty much everyone is not in the spirit of the game.Been confirmed actually - 14 changes from last week's team that faced the Crusaders with Potgieter the only player retained. Bit ridiculous IMO. For the record their side for the weekend is:
Very varied though. No place-kicker for example. It's still a pretty solid 2nd XV though.
And the Tahs did what the Bulls did back in 2002. Ended up losing their last game of the season (96!-19) and in their home S/F when the big boys came back, the Brumbies put 50 on them.Exactly, its certainly not the worst second XI though I doubt the Stormers will have too much difficulty securing a win and home semi-final. I can't disagree about your final point either - for instance I remember the Crusaders essentially fielded a second team against the Lions earlier in the year - though it does frustrate me when teams field weakened teams for tactical reasons (being an All Black supporter and all).
Would be a huge shock if the Lions and Cheetahs finished anywhere other than last and second to last.
Selective quoting of predictions ftw.10 Cheetahs
To be fair I did comment that I rated the Cheetahs a better chance after their first game of the season so I somewhat backtracked on my initial prediction. It should also be noted that you managed to pick three of the four semi finalists, while Athlai and myself had just two in our pre-season top four (Athlai having the Tahs and Bulls at 5th and 6th though).Selective quoting of predictions ftw.
(Let's gloss over the fact that none of us had a ****Ing clue about the Reds. Think Athlai actually got closest overall despite picking the Bulls in sixth.)
