Hey btw, uppercut deserves a lot of praise for not being an atypical man u fan.

the rest of youze, jeez well done living up to a stereotype
Pedantry corner, but isn't that a double negative? If he's "not an atypical" ManUre fan then he's a typical one?

Anyway. WTF are Hansen and Lawrenson on? Saying Henry's dismissal was never a red card in a million years?!?! Went straight thru him from behind. If that isn't an early bath, well I dunno what is...

Entire Soccer Saturday team said it was a yellow at most as well. Oh well.... they are the "experts".

So based on all that was posted why is it not up for debate that it was a handball or not?

Re: the match, a draw was the best outcome there. Chelsea bossed the first and United the majority of the second. On performance overall Chelsea marginally but not enough where I'd say they deserved the win as both keepers didn't have much to do.

Oh and this certainly makes the league title chase more interesting now. Good for the neutral I suppose.

Yep, no debate whatsoever it was a totally clear handball, no point even discussing it, fairly ridiculous pro-manure officiating, should of been booked.

But yeah, see your point. Admittedly not seen any of the match, hence my lack of comment, even if MOTD is repeated in the morning the likelyhood of me getting up early enough is -27%. I'll accept the general consensus that the ref was gash, but not as bad as we were.

Might revert to supporting my second team for forum purposes. Altrincham getting vertigo at mid table in the conference!

Nah, have a place for them because my brother in law used to play for them, and their current ground is at the top of his road (though they move next season), so keep an eye on their results.

My real second team is Trafford FC, but alas not many Unibond league coverage on here :). Have a soft spot for Alty as used to train there alot during my school days (went to school just up the road in Hale), played a couple of times there in youth tournaments, many moons ago. Keep an eye out for Maccy Town aswell.

Might start going down to Moss Lane next year, as it is closer to where I now live than Old Trafford (could go watch Trafford FC, but the standard at Unibond 1 really is ****). However, apparently Ricky Ponting is a big shareholder in Alty, which is enough to put anyone off :(

It's not up for debate, because it was a handball

Chelsea deserved the win because

A - they were the better team
B - they scored more goals
C - they're just better

We gotta take maximum points at least until the Chelsea game. I reckon City are the favourites at the moment now for 4th place but they seem to have contrasting performances so I am confident we can get them if we just take points we should be taking - yes, I know, hush.

Nah, we scored as many goals as Barca did on Weds but couldn't honestly claim with a straight face we were as good as them.

As I've probably said before at tedious length, because of the low scoring nature of football it's uniquely susceptible to upsets; like on Wednesday - No Almunia & it was 3-0 or 4-0 to Barca at HT.

Article on soccernet suggest that Arsene Wenger will assess his squad's chances of challenging for major honours before he decides on a new contract extension in the summer. So does that mean he will get rid of wasters like Denilson?

Yeah read that. Hopefully it involves a little purging and then spending the money on more worthy replacements. We say it every year though.
Can see him sticking by the majority, the squad is largely the same as it was last season but definitely stronger now than it was last year. With the likes of Diaby, Song, Eboue and Bendtner improving quite considerably this year, I don't see any reason why it can't be Denilson's next.

/stupidly wishful thinking
