Yeah - I know plenty of Liverpool fans who want him out. Pretty much everyone I know that goes the game doesn't, though.

Horror substitution though. You just feel that Torres would've lashed in at least one of those 3 golden chances N'Gog had

Didn't see it, but SSN said Torres was holding icepack to his knee after being subbed. Might be saving him for the Europa League.

Mighty, the, how, fallen, have, etc.

Scouse supporting mate of mine (who does know his onions, usually) reckons Rafa to Real close season.

Real probably stupid enough to buy him off them.

It's not up for debate, because it was a handball

Chelsea deserved the win because

A - they were the better team
B - they scored more goals
C - they're just better
If you're going to ignore the rules of the game pointing to me being right then I don't know what that says about you.

I'm clearly not Aussie since I actually know the rules of the game.
TBH, I knew about my defence being the rule at the time but I hadn't checked it so used what seemed logical at the time until I wasn't lazy enough to find evidence to support my thinking.

Nice spot though.

Hang on, you know the rules, but didnt bother to check you were right, and since found you were wrong? Thats not knowing the rules really is it?

Anyway, MOTD2 tonight, will have a good luck, have seen the goals, but Sky Sports News only shown one angle of each, so no definative answer (though NOTW had still photo's from behind the linesman that made the offside pretty clear)

How did I find was wrong? You mean about the stomach and elbow thing? Yeah but that's because I missed that it brushed his arm. It wasn't intentional though and so a legal goal. Anyway meh to it all really.

Are these some sort of imaginary rules? Pretty sure Pickup actually posted a heap of stuff that backed up the case of the 90% who stated that it was a handball.

For once in your life, admit you were wrong, FFS

FWIW the rules Pickup posted were far from conclusive. It gives a number of factors to consider, but whether to give a handball in such incidents is entirely at the discretion of the ref. Was Macheda's arm in an "unnatural" position? Is the fact that he gained a significant advantage from it enough to award it as a handball despite it not being deliberate? It's all open to interpretation. I'm not saying I wouldn't give it as a handball, I'm just saying not doing so isn't a terrible decision.

Actually, I thought the same about the penalty incidents too. None of the decisions Dean made in the game were particularly reprehensible IMO- they could all reasonably go either way- the only real shocker was the offside, and at that stage we were a long shot to win the game anyway.

Yeah but didn't you notice it hit his elbow? Isn't that on your arm, or are you one of those who get it confused with your arse?

Do you think any referee that saw that would not give it? I certainly don't.

How was it unintentional? He knew full well what he was doing IMO. His arm movement was hardly "natural".

Considering how quickly everything happened and that it looks he puts his chest out a bit =with his arm already in motion it's hard to call it intentional.

I only saw it hit his stomach and that it was close to where his elbow was at first viewings. Only after did I see it hit his lower arm as it went in. Get it now? :)
