Last I heard Graeme Aldridge and Bradley Scott were getting games ahead of all this bowling talent that is hidden away up there. :p

On a serious note, it's a bit fustrating. Trent Boult is injured true, but he and Davis and others have been left on the sidelines when NZ really needs to know what some of these young guys can do so we can sift the gold from the sand. Scott and Aldridge are worthy bowlers and will produce solid returns, but they aren't Black Caps. Would be great if some of NDs guys moved to other provinces for opportunities. :p
I read in the paper Saturday morning that Trent Boult was cleared to play and should play in the final game of the season next week.

Look at the bowling attack he's facing today, three part-timers, a medium pace all-rounder and a guy playing his 4th first-class game. Couldn't care less if he racked up 300 here, it's against a real joke attack.

I'll bite, where did PEWS get his man-love for Sinclair from? Must be hightly unusual for an Australian to be the number one fan of a NZ cricketer, especually one who has been in and out of his own Test team.

Heh...so far Todd Astle seems to be making a decent fist of his reinvention as a leg spinner. Would be hilarious if he did a reverse Richardson and actually became quite good.

Meh, it's not really a particularly interesting story. I held (and still do hold) the belief that he was extremely poorly treated in the middle of his career as a Test batsman. Every time he was recalled for a game or two I hoped he'd perform really well to keep his place and prove and prove me right - and with each passing failure and each passing recall, my hope for him to turn it around grew stronger and stronger. I think he's a good batsman who could have forged a much more successful Test career in different circumstances and I'd love nothing more than seeing him do well. The fact that I hold great deal more respect for cricketers who completely dominate the domestic scene consistently and don't quite translate that success to international cricket than most probably contributes a lot to it as well - he's the personification of that.

As far as the Australian thing goes, I'm not really what you'd call a typical Australian cricket fan. I'm a keen follower of First Class cricket in many countries and my attachment to the Australian cricket team is pretty weak. I'm more disappointed when CD perform poorly than when Australia do really, and I support England to about the same degree even in international cricket. People have tended to assume I'm a New Zealander when they first sign up at times due to how much I post about New Zealand cricket, too.

I'm just odd when it comes to supporting teams and players in cricket; trying to decipher it using standard stereotypes probably won't work. :p

Reports on the radio saying that CD seamers Milne, Mason and someone else are on the brink of injury. Milne's knee hurts and Masons back hurts.

Good timing on his part, especially considering the limp bowling effort in the first test, and the injury to Tuffey who was doing more with the bat than the ball anyway.

The only other viable option, as far as I can see, would be to bring Nathan McCullum into the team. That way they'd retain 5 bowlers we'll still having a competent number 8. Would prefer Sinclair to be honest (though where you'd bat him is kind of up in the air), but if the pitch is dry and flat like it usually is at Hamilton they may well go for a second spinner.
