The FA's hands are tied - the referee saw the incident and decided the punishment of a free kick was enough (and to be honest, looking at his view then I can see how he would've thought that - it's other angles that make it look worse)
Their hands are only tied by their own stupid rule. If a referee clearly gets something wrong (as has clearly happened here) then it strikes me as being entirely illogical that the decision cannot be later reviewed.

It's FIFA's rule

On the other hand you have Gerrard saying how much Rafa has improved his game by telling him things and Hyypia saying what a great man he is to work with.

I know who I'd believe.
Yeah, makes sense to believe the word of a nightclub brawler over anyone else.

Amazing that anyone can actually defend let alone support lowlife scum buckets like the cowardly thug - the YouTube comments are amazing as always. Hope one day that guy gets cornered in a dark alley by his own kind, if there's a god Dennis Wise will be there with him. Total scum.

Hahaha indeed.

Besides, you're missing the point. Everyone finds it easy to work with some people and difficult to work with others. When someone completely fails at dealing with the people they don't find it easy to work with, it's called, "being crap at man-management".

In that case Ferguson is crap at man-management?

Stam, Beckham and Schmeichel would certainly agree.

Or maybe it's just the usual "I'm not being picked let me go and spout some ****e in the media".

That's certainly why those three players spouted in the media...

Might stop making dry sarcastic remarks....might not.

Ferguson managed Peter Schmeichel perfectly. Plucked him out of obscurity and had him performing absolutely fantastically for ten years. They still speak highly of one another, so no, Schmeichel wouldn't "certainly agree". Man-management isn't about never, ever having an argument with someone.

His management of Beckham certainly wasn't ideal, because United ended up selling a quality player for reasons that had nothing to do with football. Jaap Stam was more of a footballing error than a man-management error. Ferguson had a row with him over his book, they both got over it, then he sold him because he thought he wasn't any good anymore. Then later realised he was wrong.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy's another good example though. He certainly hasn't got an inch-perfect record in man-management, but that said, he has a unique and invaluable ability to keep important fringe players at the club when they're not playing regularly.

Rio got 4, Gerrard should've got at least that and possibly more

How exactly would Schmeichel agree?

Besides the point about Riera's outburst is not that it proves that Rafa is a crap manager (a glance at the league table will do that) but that it hardly adds to the harmony in a squad that is already in a state of complete disharmony.

Nah I've been watching Werder Bremen at home to Valencia which has been an even more incredible game - can someone explain to me why we have a foreign game on ITV rather than Fulham? Is it rights related?

It's FIFA's rule, the FA's hands are tied. When that Morgan **** from Sheffield United committed attempted murder on Iain Hume, the ref gave it a yellow. As such, the FA could not give any further punishments - FIFA actually stepped in to make sure of it. The **** should have gone to jail.

I presume in Rio's case the referee missed it?
