No. I've yet to read anything other than that he's shown signs of promise but has loads to prove yet and has probably been called up too soon.

Make up of the team wrong then? If ever a track was crying out for a second spinner it's this one. I'd personally have gone with 5 bowlers too on the basis that he'd be of more use than another batsman, especially with the depth we have now.

Tredwell in for Carberry or Trott & Plunkett in for Bresnan or Finn would be my team.

To be honest taking into account that they didn't pick Tredwell on a pitch they knew was a turner like this, with our injuries in the bowling department and the fact that he took a big haul in the warm up match at the same ground, I can't see when the selectors would ever pick him.

As most of us have said to death already, had to pick Rashid then you could have a proper 5-man bowling attack which is infinitely better balanced than having Tredwell in any bowling attack with Swann.

Thought Bresnan and Finn improved a great deal today, both got the ball to reverse at decent enough pace. The Bresnan delivery that removed Tamim was outstanding, getting in closer to the stumps from around the wicket, the ball nibbled just enough to clip the top of off stump, perfect. I know there are a few on here that dislike his selection, and there is nothing exceptional about him, he's an honest toiler, that is not express, just bowls decent areas with a hint of movement, was a good day for him today, and was unlucky not to pick up a couple more.

Finn settled down today, found a decent length and showed impressive skills in reversing the ball both ways at around 85-87mph. His bounce will be important on livelier tracks, if I was to compare his style at this moment would probably say more Ishant Sharma than Steve Harmison.

Yes invariably when a batsman is bowled there is something technically he could have done better, and you're right in that his footwork was not decisive, but I think in this case I would rather credit the bowler for producing a peach.

Regarding Finn's foot position, it was not something I looked at tbf, so will take your word on this area. I like his action, seems reasonably upright, strong action, and wrist position must be pretty good judging on his skills with reverse swing today.
