Still think Hoggard would be better then most of our seamers, but that ain't gonna happen I'm afraid.
I'm still puzzled why..... Did he have an affair with one of the selector's wifes? It can't be for cricket reasons only.

Trouble with such close decisions there will always be two versions of what happened, I think the umpire is in a no win situation here because if he went the other way then Eng fans would be calling it a poor decision. I really think before calling it a poor decision you have to be certiain that the umpire made a mistake than just seemed to have.
Many times, fans simply copy what commentators and/or reporters say. And in just any sport, live commentary is full of ridiculous comments. Sometimes because commentators are douchebags, but we should not forget that it ain't that easy.

Watching a dozen reruns form a dozen angles and then calling a decision poor, just stinks.

There are many examples of decisons that appear to be wrong, when studying the videos, but still seem to be good decisions. Kasper given out in the 2005 Ashes comes to mind.

Not if you play for the best FC county team by a country mile. Then you're just there to get screwed over at every opportunity.

Mark Davies, Plunkett, Onions, Mustard and Collingwood have all been treated badly by the England setup, even Blackwell as well.
Why not put them all in the England team, then somebody else might have a chance to win the County Championship?

Can't comment on Davies, but the rest don't have a lot to complain about. For me the big dissapointment was Blackwell. Had a great season last year, but burnt his England bridges a long time ago. Could have been a one day regular, if it wasn't for his attitude and lack of commitment.

I was fairly certain from the replay that it missed the glove and hit the pad, as were the TV commentators who were on at the time. No idea what the Cricinfo bloke is talking about tbh

Either way, before someone inevitably points it out, England got a pretty dire decision in their innings as well so it's evened itself out. Just wish Aftab had have been able to cash in on this highway of a pitch is all.
It hit the glove than the pad

i got that espn360, the video crew even did a close up a few overs later to show that it did hit the glove

Woke up early this morning and decided to listen to a bit of the match on TMS (198 long wave). Was treated to the inane drivel of Dominic Cork. Soon got fed up with that so got up to watch a bit on Sky, and who was commentating ..... that tosser Cork.

Whats happened to all the usual people, Aggers, Bumble, Beefy and Co?

Don't know about the others, but Bumble is sick. They were just saying on Sky he 'looked like Gollum'.

Really? I must have missed that bit, because when they were analysing it immediately after the dismissal the consensus seemed to be that he missed it.

Anyway, my mistake then.

Think we're in for an entertaining show of batsman-ship from KP here. Under no pressure at all, has some runs under his belt, is confident after the runs in the 1st innings and has started excellently. KP to smash a quickfire century?

Why is Steven Finn playing?
Onions injured and Finn was the pick of the bowlers in the warm-up game. Capable of bowling 90mph+, is 6ft7 so will get extra bounce and swings the ball. Better option than Shahzad or Plunkett I think.

All too brief cameo from KP but at least England will be able to declare overnight now (they won't).

Not too bothered by KP's score, did what he needed to. 131 runs in the match isn't a bad return, let's hope he can actually ton up next time out
