*Official* England in Bangladesh

Is it just me who's noticed a little glitch in his technique when defending against spin - he seems to bring his bat down almost squint?

King Pietersen

International Captain
That's annoying, was hoping he'd put up a massive century in this innings. Good effort all the same though, hopefully he'll be able to build from here and continue the good form.

Edit: Just seen the KP dismissal. I love that position he gets his legs in when he plays a shot like that, looked the same as when he left a straight one from Hilfenhaus at Cardiff. Looked like he was trying to run the ball off the edge down to 3rd man, quite frustrating. Amazing that his last hundred came in the West Indies a year ago, that's a serious amount of time without a hundred for a player as good as Pietersen.

Fine innings from Cook...as I said earlier in this thread before, I would like to see double ton from him

Cook is 25 (and 77 days), has nearly 4000 runs and averages 44. His debut was 4 years ago. Someone at Cricinfo claims that today, Cook has gone past Collingwood, Imran Khan, Flintoff and Hussey.

Looks quite impressive! Not too many batsman with that amount of test runs at that age.

Look a good innings from Cook, two sixes aswell :-O he's going a little overboard tbh.

Always been suprised by the lack of sixes he hits for someone who pulls as good as him. Slog sweep seems to be working well for him lately, though.

Shame KP didn't get 3 figures but decent score nonetheless.

Hopefully Colly and Cook accelerate tomorrow and declare around lunch.

Why declare at lunch? Is a halfwitted chimp captaining the side?

Should bat another two sessions and get beyond 600.

Should just bat on IMO. Pitch looks like it's going to get harder to bat on and any runs scored now are runs we don't have to score later. Nothing wrong with batting just past tea and then having a burst late in the day IMO.

Stack the side with spinners, win the toss & bowl!!!!!????

Idiots got what they deserved

Hope England get trounced for playing such a weakened team.
Indeed. We are playing a weakened team: Bangladesh.

Trott a tad unlucky there...no referrals in this series? Still we had our fair share during the ODI's
Sawn off at the knees more like. Woeful decision. Missed it by inches. Think Hill was surprised a ball got up that high.

Horrible, horrible insertion tho. Must've been done out of sheer funk because it makes literally no sense. As social said, why fill up on twirlers and then pass up the chance to bowl 4th?

As well as being a tactical cretin Shakib looks a pretty bloody ordinary bowler too considering all the wraps he's had on him.

370 in a day and you want acceleration:unsure:

Just bat all day tomorrow, boost a few guys averages.

If you can't bowl Bangladesh out twice in 3 days then you don't deserve the win.

Thanks to England playing more tests than any other nation, Cook if he continues to keep his form can go play 200 test matches and score a tonload (possible even more than Tendulkar).

Putting England in to bowl first is probably Bangladesh's best chance at bowling 4th. :)

Woke up early to watch this crap. No arguments if England plays their fourth string XI come the home series.

Unfair on Shakib, he is a very talented young cricketer who really does not need the added weight of captaincy.

During the last few matches at Chittagong this pitch has turned on days one and two before turning into an absolute road by day 5. Most notably against New Zealand when we spun them out in the first dig and then watched them stonewall their way to a draw on day five. Obviously hasn't panned out like that this time.

I'll assume this is your first look at Shakib and disregard your call about his bowling.
