What sort of pace does Steve Finn get? His cricinfo profile says he is very tall, so he must get a lot of bounce as well?
I haven't seen him bowl but the newspaper was saying a couple of days ago that he can get it just above 90mph which is quick enough if you're 6'7". If that's true then it would make him quite a prospect. How old is he? 20?

About mid-eighties I think. He's like a more accurate/slower Steve Harmison with a bit less bounce, but he's only 20, so the pace should come.

edit: I haven't personally seen him get over 90, but don't quote me as an authority on Finn.

Not sure about 90mph just yet, whenever I've seen him on Sky he's bowled at around the 85mph range, but he certainly looks a prospect. Hopefully he'll have a good series and continue that next season in County cricket, would be an ideal bowler to have in Australia.

Saw a bit this morning before coming to work (where as you can see I am very busy) and Cook & Pietersen looked safe as a house. Would be disappointed if either got out before close, could have 400 on the board here.

All this talk of 'such a weakened team' - Strauss is the only player taking a complete rest, Anderson needed some time to heal up and Onions is injured.

Mark Kidger has gazed into his crystal ball and found this: "Wait for the torrent of criticism of KP when he gets out for 80-90. And, if he doesn't, there will be a torrent of criticism that his century is only against Bangladesh!" I have a feeling you're right Mark.

Quite!

On selection though I'm surprised we have only gone into this game with a single offspinner. Personally I'd have thought another spinner would be worthwhile, preferably one who turns the ball the other way. Wouldn't have picked Bresnan myself. (Cue 10
wickets for Bresnan)

Delighted to see KP finding some form. I'm watching the 2nd session atm, with KP currently on 22* and he looks far more comfortable. He's opened his stance and started playing far straighter, not working across the ball anywhere near as much. Hopefully he'll take heaps of confidence from this innings, make a massive score and start building some real form again. Could really do with getting that Test average back up into the 50's. I'm hoping to see a couple of excellent years from KP.

Out on 99 I dinnae believe it!!

Still - he's clearly found some form again - and at the end of his career people can't ake a century off him for being against Bangladesh

Ouch! Pietersen gone for 99. That's got to hurt. He's been dismissed a few times in the 90s now in Tests.
