*Official* Zimbabwe in West Indies

Good start from Zim, would be nice if Sibanda could up his scoring rate a little though.

Beautifully constructed innings this from Zimbabwe. Makes me nostalgic for the time when most ODIs went like this. Not an easy pitch either by all accounts.

Is this a good innings by Vusi or not?
We won't really know until it ends. If he gets out for ~50 (100) then no, but if he bats through for 100 (140) then yeah. You can't really judge these kinds of innings for Zimbabwe in the same way that you do for teams like Australia or India.

I reckon yes. Pitch is really slow and inconsistent so a par score will only be 250 or so, and as Uppercut alluded to, Zimbabwe don't really have the quality to have all their batsman try and score at 80+ from the outset. Obviously it could have been a touch quicker, but I'd much prefer this to 30 (35) from him; don't think it's too bad from someone making his comeback in his non-preferred format of cricket.

Nah, Gayle and Chanderpaul to both hit unbeaten tons and WindieWeathers to call for youngsters to replace them.
I see your knickers are still firmly in a TWIST!! , unlike you i've actually been watching the pair of them over the last year, stick to Coventry City, WI cricket clearly isn't your thing.

As for the game, it's been an embarrassment again, the bowling has been lackluster, Miller just isn't good enough and i don't know why he's anywhere near the side, Pollard has been more expensive than usual with his wides and poor bowling but he made up for it with that fantastic run out, the fielding has also been shambolic, saw Gibson taking notes in the stands, that's good because he's got a lot of work to do, we can still win it but the guys are gonna have to get their acts together with the bat. if Gayle gets out early again i'll be livid, although no doubt certain posters here will still think the sun shines out of his behind  .

Miller's bowling has been disappointing. I don't think it was a good move to drop Sammy, and replace him with Miller. This is Guyana, not Trinidad, and the two pitches are quite different.

That was a good innings by Sibanda. Funny how Roach broke his bat in dismissing him!

Trouble for WI me thinks. 254 is very competitive.

Can see the run rate required rising very quickly if Gayle is dismissed early. Then I can see Chanders hanging around with Smith and Pollard throwing their wickets away with the pressure.

Shall be interesting.

But Miller hasn't put a foot wrong in his international career as of yet harsh to drop him, though on this wicket Sammy should have probably played. Fletcher's inclusion is laughable though, how many games can one or two good performances justify?

Definitely trouble for Windies, should be a tight game...

What do you mean "Miller hasn't put a foot wrong"? what did he do in Australia exactly? to put it bluntly the guy is poor and doesn't take wickets, even his wicket today was a shocking decision from the umpire, we need better than him and i hope Kantasingh and Khan get a chance soon.

Yes, not the most threatening spinner in the World, but he has a superior economy and average to Benn, though, not necesserily saying he should play ahead of Benn, just saying he hasn't performed poorly in his OD career by any means...

Dangit, rain, hopefully not too threatening...

So they open the bowling with Utesya and Price? With Cramer, Matsikinyeri and Lamb to bowl all the other overs?

Here is where I turn the TV off and go and do something productive.

Remind us once again what Khan's OD credentials are.

If that's the case Barath shouldn't be playing right now because he's barely played Od cricket himself!! 8-) , Khan's been the best wicket taker in the recent domestic season, taking 41 wickets, that's the only "credentials" that matter to me right now.

I don't wanna jinx it but it looks like Gayle is in the mood today, i might have a lot of humble pie to eat if he carries on getting sixes!! .

12 games is infinitely more than nil - if a player (even one who is getting wickets in FC cricket) can't get in a domestic OD side, then how the hell does he deserve an ODI call up?

Right now we can't afford to be picky, Khan is a spinner who is growing in stature every game he plays, trying him out against Zimbabwe in place of a clown like Miller won't hurt our chances at all, i also mentioned Kantasingh who has played OD cricket from what i understand.
