Kyles, just out of interest. Are you Mark Cleary?
Being serious?

Lol I wish mate......nah I'm deafinately not.

Not a huge believer in home game advantage at Shield level. Especially when it comes to pitch conditions. Don't think any of the Shield teams gain a huge advantage from home pitch conditions.

The only reason teams play better at home is due to familiarity and lack of travel required. Turning the South Australian pitch into a greentop will only nullify the one major asset South Australia has in Klinger.

Question, how do you turn the Adelaide Oval into a green top? It's 37 degrees in Adelaide today. Flat, slightly turning wickets is what they do best given the conditions.
Yeah agree with what you said there really..was just annoyed when I made that post before, just abit sick of the Adelaide oval being slow and flat half the time. If the SCG can prepare a greenish pitch so can the SACA' though.

Another dire day for the Redbacks..George the only one that bowled decent, Smith and Klinger making 50's..need some big partnerships from the next couple of batsmen.

Nah was joking mate. Just noticed you had mentioned him a fair few times!

So sick at the moment, would start feeling better though if QLD managed to win this match against Vic. It's pretty unlikely, but the last 15 overs or so have been great.

Quite the exciting game between the Bulls and the Bushrangers. Cannot recall a side ever scoring 100 runs in the 31-40 over stage of the innings. Reardon is such a clean hitter of the ball. McGain didn't bowl that poorly, just every ball he bowled seemed to find the middle of the bat.

I just checked the scores and I am devastated at the loss. Well played Vics. We were so close to making the most epic run chase ever as well. Target was in reach too before we lost all those wickets at the end.

Honestly, SA have to find a way to keep Ludeman in the side, even as a specialist bat. Ballsy player with a bit of spark, something SA sorely needs if they're going to get over a team like Victoria provided they make the final. Not sure exactly who should miss out, possibly Borgas. I think SA would benefit from having Kane Richardson in too, seems to be on the surge form-wise. Would have him in ahead of Putland, tbh.
Indeed.

Saw the highlights of the Vic v Qld match

God almighty there was some quality fare

Honourable mentions to Hodge, Carseldine and Reardon

She looked like an absolute barn-burner of a game

Pathetic loss from the Redbacks, poor performance..flogged. Batting was dire aswell Harris and Smith are starting to become very inconsistent one of them will score 70/80odd in one innings and then the next they'll score a duck, Borgas needs to push on when he gets to 30ish, 40ish same as O'Brien, also Cosgrove's shot selection can be very poor..I mean walking a metre acorss your stumps and trying to glance and getting bowled leg stump is just plain stupid in a first class game. Bailey shouldn't play another game this season tbh.

Cleary should come back in..Putland has to go. Haberfield needs a haul in the next couple of games to keep his spot tbh.

SA dudded by an innings and heaps against NSW. Copeland takes 5 in the second dig and provides more fuel to the 'SA batters can't play swing bowling' fire. Not that there's much to choose from, only one bloke has made more than one grade ton this year.

Now, can we please stop picking Bailey as the specialist spinner? And, if you're going to bat O'Brien at 6, picking three number 11's strikes me as a bit reckless. Ludeman aside, longest tail in the country.

Anyone know why Hazlewood didn't bowl in the first innings? Fair effort from O'Keefe to bowl so many overs and get good figures.

I had totally forgotten about the Shield match vs. Vic today. Decent start for QLD having the Vics 2/69. I notice Mash is in the lineup again.

Big match for Cutting and McKay and also possibly Andrew McDonald.

Copeland with SUCH a good start to his State career. Fantastic to see him replicate his good form for St George.

Injured I heard.

Admittedly haven't seen a lot of him but what I've seen, has a bit of Adam Dale about him bowling. Reckon he'll take heaps of SS scalps.

Yeah, had a side strain according to Cricinfo. Fair effort to come back and take 2/11 off 10 though. Really rate him highly.

Norfy goes for under 25 yet again in this game, hopefully ensuring he doesn't make the boat to NZ. Still bowling well, mind.

No way North should be on the plane to NZ but I'm sure he will be.
What a find Copeland has been, hes exactly what we've been missing - a consistent wicket taker. Nice bowling by O'Keefe as well.

I don't think the selectors can pick their bowling attack based on reliability with bat. Surely you just pick your best 3 quicks, and if they suck at batting, so be it, but you have to back your batsmen to make the runs. Whether or not those 3 guys are the best bowlers (I'm not convinced they are) is another story, but I don't think you can pick them based on runs scored at say number 9.

I guess fundamentally the problem is the batters bar klinger and the bowlers in general are just not performing/good enough.
