Yeah, Manou has been batting awful this season and now he is injured, Wouldn't have Borgas out of the side though, especially when Cosgrove is still injured..should be back for next shield game though..Borgas > Cooper aswell.Yeah good win in the end.
Honestly, SA have to find a way to keep Ludeman in the side, even as a specialist bat. Ballsy player with a bit of spark, something SA sorely needs if they're going to get over a team like Victoria provided they make the final. Not sure exactly who should miss out, possibly Borgas. I think SA would benefit from having Kane Richardson in too, seems to be on the surge form-wise. Would have him in ahead of Putland, tbh.
Thornely never should have been dropped from the Shield team in the first place. This is what he's done in Shield cricket over the last five seasons:I would definitely be picking Richardson in the OD side, not 100% sure on the 4dayers at the moment.
NSW vs. Vic underway, I'm surprised that Thornley has been chosen in front of Warner and Mash chosen in front of Hill. Looking forward to a Michael Hill Jewell partnership one of these days.

Yeah, have to agree. Reckon Putland's been picked on grade form so I guess they'd have to give him a decent run. Just really want Ludeman to stay in the side!Yeah, Manou has been batting awful this season and now he is injured, Wouldn't have Borgas out of the side though, especially when Cosgrove is still injured..should be back for next shield game though..Borgas > Cooper aswell.
The SA selectors would never be willing to try something like that either..its just not them...
Richardson is a good prospect and he can bat well to..which SA's tail can not do at all..you look at SA's batting order.."wow this team has depth Christian/Ludeman is coming in at 8..then you look down a bit further............nuff said", but I think Putlands a better bowler at this stage and is in decent form with the ball and is a left armer that adds variety.
Hopefully Cleary starts bowling again soon to.
Has a 'handle with care' rep, from memory. Maybe that explains why he's not in the 4-day team?Thornely never should have been dropped from the Shield team in the first place. This is what he's done in Shield cricket over the last five seasons:
How do you drop that player? Since establishing himself in the team he's never averaged below 42 with the bat in a season and he's added a bit more with the ball as the years have gone on to, yet he wasn't in the lineup for the first round of the Shield this season because the management was convinced we had the 2017 World XI waiting in the wings. It was a joke, but as if that wasn't bad enough, he's been getting semi-regular Ford Ranger Cup games this season despite the fact that he's always been medicore at one day cricket, and despite the fact that a lot of our younger players are a lot more suited to it at the moment. Go figure.Code: Mts Runs BatAvg Wkts BwlAvg 04-05 12 1065 62.64 05-06 10 688 45.86 06-07 11 801 42.15 6 47.33 07-08 11 551 45.91 11 26.18 08-09 11 680 42.50 6 40.83
Yeah, iand iff Cleary comes back soon..hard to say if the selectors would drop Putland or Haberfield..Yeah, have to agree. Reckon Putland's been picked on grade form so I guess they'd have to give him a decent run. Just really want Ludeman to stay in the side!
Dont think Richardson should be in really, feel as though putland is a better bowler, but even still other bowlers before richardson. Interesting thoughts on Ludeman though, I dont think you can justify playing him as a spec bat at this stage though.Yeah good win in the end.
