Gah, ****ing Knowles again?!?! GTFO.

SA need 5 to win with Ludeman and the first of 3 number 11's with him or to come. Still anyone's.

Good win for the redbacks needed that 6 points, shouldn't of been as close as it was though..if they lost that match I would of broke my computer..:p

Yeah good win in the end.

Honestly, SA have to find a way to keep Ludeman in the side, even as a specialist bat. Ballsy player with a bit of spark, something SA sorely needs if they're going to get over a team like Victoria provided they make the final. Not sure exactly who should miss out, possibly Borgas. I think SA would benefit from having Kane Richardson in too, seems to be on the surge form-wise. Would have him in ahead of Putland, tbh.

Yeah, Manou has been batting awful this season and now he is injured, Wouldn't have Borgas out of the side though, especially when Cosgrove is still injured..should be back for next shield game though..Borgas > Cooper aswell.

The SA selectors would never be willing to try something like that either..its just not them...

Richardson is a good prospect and he can bat well to..which SA's tail can not do at all..you look at SA's batting order.."wow this team has depth Christian/Ludeman is coming in at 8..then you look down a bit further............nuff said", but I think Putlands a better bowler at this stage and is in decent form with the ball and is a left armer that adds variety.

Hopefully Cleary starts bowling again soon to.

I would definitely be picking Richardson in the OD side, not 100% sure on the 4dayers at the moment.

NSW vs. Vic underway, I'm surprised that Thornley has been chosen in front of Warner and Mash chosen in front of Hill. Looking forward to a Michael Hill Jewell partnership one of these days.

Thornely never should have been dropped from the Shield team in the first place. This is what he's done in Shield cricket over the last five seasons:

Code:
[B]	Mts	Runs	BatAvg	Wkts	BwlAvg[/B]

04-05	12	1065	[B]62.64[/B]
05-06	10	688	[B]45.86[/B]
06-07	11	801	[B]42.15[/B]	6	47.33
07-08	11	551	[B]45.91[/B]	11	26.18
08-09	11	680	[B]42.50[/B]	6	40.83
How do you drop that player? Since establishing himself in the team he's never averaged below 42 with the bat in a season and he's added a bit more with the ball as the years have gone on to, yet he wasn't in the lineup for the first round of the Shield this season because the management was convinced we had the 2017 World XI waiting in the wings. It was a joke, but as if that wasn't bad enough, he's been getting semi-regular Ford Ranger Cup games this season despite the fact that he's always been medicore at one day cricket, and despite the fact that a lot of our younger players are a lot more suited to it at the moment. Go figure.

Yeah, have to agree. Reckon Putland's been picked on grade form so I guess they'd have to give him a decent run. Just really want Ludeman to stay in the side!

Has a 'handle with care' rep, from memory. Maybe that explains why he's not in the 4-day team?

Probably wasn't picked because of the bull**** that you need to pick future Australian players in the Shield....

Yeah, iand iff Cleary comes back soon..hard to say if the selectors would drop Putland or Haberfield..

Manou needed an operation of his knee so I'd say he would be about for the next couple of games, so we'll be seeing more of Ludeman :)

@ Prince EWS I thought that Thornley would have been a good selection at the start of the year as the team was pretty inexperienced. Now that the big gun Katich is back, I figured NSW would opt for Warner in front of him.

Pleasantly surprised I guess, hope he does well. BTW Katich really should open, I don't know why the Australian opener has to make room for both Phils.

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Because he always bats at 3 for NSW, and we already know he can do the job, plus Jaques and Hughes have always been openers.

Dissapointing to see Thornley playing ahead of Warner.

Will be interesting to see how Starc, Haslewood and Copeland go with the ball.

Dont think Richardson should be in really, feel as though putland is a better bowler, but even still other bowlers before richardson. Interesting thoughts on Ludeman though, I dont think you can justify playing him as a spec bat at this stage though.

Damien Wright bowling figures:

25 overs
5 wickets
37 runs
13 maidens

Hasn't been the worst pickup by Victoria, even if injury prevents him from playing more games.

the australian has suggested phil hughes should be dropped, has averaged 19 since the test.
Most be the most awful batting by nsw ever this year.
See them coming last in every competition, thats my positive spin, vics dominating nsw.

Well bowled from Wright, can be deadly with his swing bowling at times.

His bowling reminds me abit of Indian swing bowler Praveen Kumar..anyone else see that to?
