RAW was epic once again. WWE is ON FIRE of late. I barely want any segments to end. And Cena as amazing last night.

edit - IIRC you don't really watch Smackdown either, so that would make a lot of sense on that front
Haha yeah. You guys keep mentioning how good the show is but it's on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons here which is a pretty dire time for me so i never get the chance to try it.

Just saw the youtube of the final segment on RAW. **** yeah with Bret destroying the equipment. If he'd written WCW in the air it would've been enough to end me.

duffer, are you aware it's the 21st century? If you can't record Smackdown then, erm, well, forum rules but you know what I mean. You won't be disappointed :p

And yeah, Bret's segmet was immense. My mate was saying as we watched it that he was hoping he'd write 'TNA' in the air

Haha yeah, but I live in Australia which means download limits kill me when I have mma, tv shows, Arsenal matches and movies to download. Oh and work too.

As for RAW, the Michales-Taker build is getting pretty sick as well. Gonna be a good Mania from what I'm seeing. Needs more Edge though.

The whole build is great and you kinda know where they are going but at the same time, don't. Mania should be stacked this year, best one since 19 is on the cards

Will be hard to trump 20 or 21 imo, but it should be the best since either of those by a fair stretch. Don't want to get my hopes up too much though, just because of how it was all shaping up great last year only to end up with a totally dross card, and one match that is probably the greatest I've ever seen.

Just watched that Cena/Vince angle again, Cena WAG. Clever move to get him to do a load of Bret's mic work.

The difference with last year is that it's looking like we'll see fresh ideas that we haven't seen in the last few years, save maybe HBK-Taker which will be awesome anyway, if it happens. If you look last year, though things were building up fairly well (HHH-Orton had a great build for example) there wasn't anything everyone was dying to see. People wanna see Edge and Jericho go at it. Everyone has wanted to see Vince in the sharpshooter for 12 years. DX have never fought each other at Mania - or Taker has never given a rematch the following year. And I think Cena and Batista have only had one high profile match, and that was face v face. Bear in mind I've not even considered the WWE title in any of this and the distinct possibility that I might have called some of these wrong, and it's why it's such compelling viewing at the moment. We really could be looking at a supercard. I think X7 is the best Mania, but 19 had the stacked card, for me.

The Shawn storyline in particular is amazing at the moment. How anyone can prefer TNA baffles me, it really does.

Smackdown this week looks like a solid show too. Won't spoiler it, but Jericho vs Taker in the main event sounds like a really well booked match.

Haven't posted here in a while because I recently got back home in Melbourne after being 3 weeks in the US and Canada.

I managed to watch Raw this week and it was a great show. The last two weeks of Raw have been brilliant. Edge coming back last week bought back a lot of quality to the shows and this week the segment with Cena, Vince and Bret was outstanding.

Seeing Christian on Raw was a nice surprise, but to see him jobbing to Sheamus was disappointing to say the least. Christian proved again that he can even have a match with a bucket and make the bucket look good. He put over Sheamus really strongly here. I'm hoping he gets drafted to Smackdown where hopefully he'll have better opponents that he can work with.

I'm loving the Shawn Michaels storyline as he's well overdue for a heel turn. A heel Shawn Michaels against a face Triple H is a fresh new way to present their feud. I'm definitely interested on where it goes from here.

Wrestlemania will look like a stacked card and here are the matches that I think will be on the show:

Triple H vs Shawn Michaels

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Chris Jericho vs Edge

WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton vs Sheamus vs Ted DiBiase

Money in the Bank Match: Any combination of Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, MVP, Christian, Jack Swagger, Yoshi Tatsu, Shelton Benjamin, R-Truth

The Undertaker vs CM Punk

Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon

John Cena vs Batista

There is the potential of having the John Cena vs Batista match with Bret Hart and Vince McMahon in their respective corners if Bret Hart doesn't agree to have a match.

Overall, this is one exciting Wrestlemania coming up. The only thing that I'm a bit doubtful on is an opponent for The Undertaker. I think CM Punk would again make a logical opponent once The Undertaker loses the belt to Chris Jericho at Elimination Chamber.

Agree with most of your post there mb, except I still think we might get Shawn-Taker II and Punk-Mysterio.

Vince McMahon stated during this morning's WWE conference call that the WWE Survivor Series title is "obsolete." He added that the title has "outlasted its usage" and that they do not intend on using the name going forward.

"We think that Survivor Series is obsolete, as far as that title is concerned," McMahon said. It was something that worked many, many years ago, in terms of a creative standpoint, various teams competing. That really is not advantageous as the consumer now looks as what actually they are buying. And it's such a broad ... Survivor Series yes, many years ago, was one of the original four pay-per-views, but it's outlasted its usage and it is one of the things in terms of rebranding, this year and going forward, that will be rebranded. No longer will we have that title, Survivor Series."

While WWE's new gimmick-themed pay-per-view events out-performed their 2008 counterparts, last year's Survivor Series took a sharp hit as the show drew 235,000 buys, down 26% from 2008 (319,000).
Bit sad, always quite liked that event. Back in the day when there were enough tag teams/stables to make the match type quite enjoyable this was always good value. Not in favour of them adding any more gimmick themed PPVs to the calender. Unless it's War Games, always loved that. Have to doubt that will happen mind, it being a WCW idea and all.

****ing loved War Games. Arguably the greatest thing to come out of WCW. That buy rate for a "big 4" PPV is pretty shocking though. 235k? Wow, are you kidding me?

Yeah, it was a good PPV but really didn't have that 'big show' feel to it, it wasn't well built-up. Whereas the other three are always hyped.

Would agree that Survivor Series has lost its value. The only way that I could see it being any value, whilst keeping the name if it were to be a King of the Ring concept (something which I quite enjoyed) with the winner getting a title shot either on the night or at a later time.

King of the Ring was a great PPV, easily one of the best of the year I thought. I guess it would only work if the E had total faith in the guy who was booked to win it though, Billy Gunn winning it was a bit of a stinker. Waltman clearly should have won it imo
