*Official* Under-19 World Cup 2009/10

Sylvester

State Captain
I think 18 months is long enough if he puts in some performances.

He will definately be well entrenched in the ODI side by that stage.

Depending on North, Hussey may not survive till then.

Marsh is a genuine #3/#4 batsman.
Well its really only the rest of the Shield this season and then half of it next by the time the Ashes comes around. And probably by then we would either replaced North or hes found form again.

International Captain
cricket australia should sign this group to long term contracts, some classy players there, whether we win or lose the world cup.
We can afford it.

The game doesn't mean anything but WI are playing Sri lanka right now and it's a cracking contest, Sri lanka somehow managed to get 291 for 6, and even had a further boost when the unthinkable happend and the best batter in the whole competition Kraigg Brathwaite was caught lbw off the first ball, but somehow WI have faught back manfully and 17 year old alrounder Yannik Cariah has played a superb innings and is currently on 92 runs to help the Windies to 250 for 5 with 8 overs left, i must say our kids have put up one hell of a fight today, i thought 291 would be way out of their reach.

Windies won with 294 for 6, it's a brilliant comeback from the lads and Cariah finished with 110 not out, looks like another talented kid to add to the list.

Mitch Marsh is the best young batsman to come into the Australian system for a decade.

Youngest player to debut for Western Australia in over 70 years.

Only 18, first class batting average of over 45 at his age

Can bowl at around 145km/h.....

I don't think he has bowled in the u/19 tournament yet which is suprising.

Could find himself at number 6 for the next Ashes tour of England.

.
Phillip Hughes says hello. He was averaging 62 at the age of 18 and 70 by the time he was 20. Not too mention that he had played around 20-25 games when he had this average not 3... Marsh could have a terrible patch of several games and his average could platter around the mid 30's like his brother.

Hughes will end his career as a better batsman then Mitchell Marsh, who'll probably end up an overhyped hack like Mosis Henriques.

Ah, I hate when Australians put their hand on their heart during the national anthem. It's such an American thing.

Got any basis for that assumption?
