Does anyone think the draw for the quarters and semi's is kinda odd? If NZ and SL win (which you'd think at the moment would have to be the favourite results), then you'll have a replay of a round robin match in the semi's. Likewise for SA and Aus. I always thought big tournaments like this were scheduled so that teams that played in the round robin would only meet again in the final...

It will be a big ask to chase that down but you can never write off SA fighting spirit. Jennings said its not the strongest team we've taken but we will fight and gang up in 2's.

I actually think Richards had a good afternoon behind the stumps, apart from the tough drop catch which was not a bad effort he also had to deal with a very poor seam attack as captain which cannot be easy. Trust me he is class. Better than Mosehle.

Wernars was the reports I read in the papers whic was obviously wrong. I agree with you.

As for Dale Deeb...I thought he was the shining light. His figures don't depict it but think of the drop catch off his bowling for their class batsman was very disappointing. He was bowling with a wet ball and 2 left-handers who were in. I though his action was top notch and he could turn the ball plus he got good flight and had a cracker of an arm ball that slighly moved in the air. Don't forget he is a good batsman and fielder.

Richards and Deeb have been the most recent SA Schools captains in 2008 and 2009 and before them it was Elgar, Vandiar and Parnell which is quite a threesome.

I am also perplexed why we didn't take Calvin Savage who is a 16 year old fast bowler and made SA schools and the last 16 year old bowler to play SA Schools was Parnell. H e is highly rated and will make the next WC squad but should have been in this one already.

According to the commentators SA fast bowler Rabian Engelbrecht bowled the fastest ball of the tournament in televised matches. He hit 142 k's.

Yeah but Australia's biggest strength is the bowling.

Very disappointed that Mitch Marsh got run out, he was the big wicket for sure. If Australia get a few early wickets the NZ middle order will be under pressure, seeing as though they've not batted this series.
Oh I'm definitely not saying "New Zealand should win this" I just mean that if the bowling can keep Australia to under 250 on this pitch and the batting is suppose to be this New Zealand teams strength they should get close.

Although it's not looking flash right now, 16-0 of six overs. Last thing we need to do is get bogged down early.

Sri Lankan left armer is seaming the ball both ways. Not very quick but he did up Hendricks good.

Tough conditions for the Sri Lankan bowlers. Strong wind, wet ball and it looks very cold out there but they are getting the ball to talk.

Might be just trying to see off the new ball - are these Australia's best bowlers?

Btw I really liked the look of Latham's batting when I saw the highlights of NZ v Zim the other day. Admittedly the bowling wasn't great but he was putting it away very well.

Well they're the two bowlers with FC experience.

We need to crank up the rate ASAP in case rain comes into play.

 Both Boam and Latham dropped

And their off. Ian Smith reckons that might be it. Huge shame if that is the case, Sri Lanka have bossed the game.

Neesham upping the run rate for NZ, but they're still a long way behind. Run rate @ 3.36 at the moment. Key man Corey Anderson has just reached the middle.

And both the openers are now out, not the way you should go about things if you're only going to bat for 14 overs.

Neesham's already hit a six though, and he's only faced nine balls  Will probably need these two to bat for awhile.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF maybe we should start time-wasting...........

We're behind the D/L by 15 runs

EDIT: Jimmy gone. Blah, that will crank up the D/L another 20 runs....
It better start pissing down next over

Game has restarted. Looks like a Sri Lanka Aussie semi.
SA's attack looked very poor; can't expect to go far in this tournament with pie chuckers. And that Hume looked mentally suspect there at the end.

Aussies have a strong attack but their batting was nothing flash today.

Bah, game over with Anderson gone I reckon. The guys coming in haven't even gotten a bat all tournament.

How bad was the bowling suppose to be if batting was this teams strength coming into the tournament
