Windies now 163/5, so they should get home fairly comfortably, provided they don't implode like Ireland did last week. And given the healthy scoring rate they've kept up they should still got a nice NRR boost too.

The youngsters from Barbados, Braithwaite and Dowrich accounted for 166 of the 188 runs required and scored them from just 164 balls. Thank God for Bajans Very Happy

My 3 fellow Trinis contributed just 7 runs from 38 balls for the loss of 2 wickets. Oh dear!!!!

Thank God for Bajans. Never thought I'd say that

Dowrich seems a pretty sharp batsman. Competition for Ramdin? Good signs.
I have heard very good things about him. But then again Ramdin was an awesome batsman at Under 19 level so I will have to contain my enthusiasm. I certainly think Barbados should include Braithwaite and Dowrich in their 4 day team when they get home.

Braithwaite is a given, I think. He was impressive a handful of innings at the tail end of last season. Dowrich comes up against "West Indies capped" Patrick Browne, but I agree that he should be strongly considered. Browne hasn't been switched on for a while now.

Yeah the Patrick Browne of 2007/8 would be worth his place even ahead of someone like Dowrich.

As you say, he has been poor recently with both bat and gloves. He has also been in trouble for disciplinary reasons on more than one occassion.

Unfortunately as we know from the Jason Bennett saga, selections by the BCA are anything but logical.

Actually, I can understand the logic behind the way Bennett was treated for the majority of his career. With guys like Best, Collymore, Collins and Bradshaw in the seam department, and Benn ever-present. That said, I've always rated Bennett highly enough to have debuted by now.

Bevan Small looks a bloody good bowler for his age. I know the allrounders were hyped up before the tournament and Logan van Beek was apparently the fastest bowler but there's a lot to like about Small, along with his opening partner Ben Wheeler who isn't fast but swings the ball nicely.

Missed Jimmy bat though :(

Wasn't much to miss, tbh.

Oh, and does anyone else find it funny that SL vs Zim and NZ vs Zim were both broadcast internationally, but that there is no coverage of NZ vs SL? Spectacular coverage there.

At first there was logic but then he got into the Barbados team, was the leading wicket taker by some distance and yet he was still dropped.

The senior guys were always going to get the nod ahead of the youngsters though. And this is going to sound really bad, but Barbados' selections have recently seemed to be more to serve personal interests than those of West Indies cricket. Like when they picked Collins, Collymore, Best and Smith when none of them were eligible for West Indies selection.

Anyway, playing for CCC means Bennett gets a chance to bowl at better batsmen, more often. And performances like this must've been particularly satisfying.

Alas he is almost 28, and getting older by the day...

The New Zealand bowlers are doing a very good job at QEII Park which has seen a few high scores posted so far in the domestic 50 over games. Sri Lanka 109-6 after 31 overs.

Australia are 204-3 after 41 overs against South Africa, Jason Floros is again in the runs and is only four short of his century.

Bangladesh 171/4 after 42 overs, they haven't really got going through this innings.

India V England hasn't got underway yet.

Nice to see the lads emulating the efforts of the national side by letting the opposition off the hook after we had them at our complete mercy.

Not really.

Pathetic really. When I left Sri Lanka were 133-9 and somehow they bat 16 overs and make another 60+ runs, shocking.

'Pathetic'...? When a guy batting at No.7 scores a nigh-on run a ball 69 and manipulates the strike so well in a 10th wicket stand of 59, in 10 overs, where the No.11 faces only 16 of those balls for 5 not out?

Nor I nor you saw the innings but can't praise be given to a good knock? It's not like No.11 scored 69.
