Can't really really report on the keepers as they didn't really have much to do, all of it was pretty regulation. Thanks very much for the report, it's great to get the perspective of someone who was actually there. I agree that Braithwaite is going to be more effective in the longer forms of the game, but I get the impression his innings would have been match winning if any of the middle order had got going.
If I may ask, what were the two wicket keepers like? I have heard great things about young Shane Dowrich and Pakistan Under 19 teams can usually be relied upon to have a promising keeper-batsman.
Yeah it was deleted at his request.I thought I had a Jimmy Neesham Appreciation Society thread, but in the search engine, it does not exist, unless it got deleted or merged into another thread.
Fair enough.Yeah it was deleted at his request.
12. His dad, a former Kiwi rugby league player, took up a coaching role with Workington Town in 2003.Anyone know when Ben Stokes moved to England?
Zimbabwe's domestic scene has been pretty organised this season to be fair. Standard obviously isn't amazing but the teams have been franchised out, there's been a very healthy amount of cricket in all formats and, slowly but surely, a lot of players who had left the country to play cricket abroad have returned. Tikolo, Odoyo and Riki Wessels (for some reason) have all played too. As far as structure goes it's all quite good at the moment providing they can maintain it.Chatara looked really good for zimbabwe. Good pace and bounce, and great line and length. If he had access to a few years of competitve domestic cricket I could see him maturing into a very good player
Do you have links to a story about this?Wessels has no brit passport now, between careers, hope he comes down to oz.
I dont doubt you, just it isnt mentioned on his cricinfo page, wiki page or ECB page. Thats why I asked for a link as I wanted to read about it.common knowledge he and vanderwrath unable to get passports for next season, northants in dispute with ecb and the home office.
Means wessels between careers,he has none now.
Hey NZ guy a few questions if i may, were there any left arm pacers in the windies side? i've read conflicting reports about a kid named Jermaine Blackwood who is in the side, some articles claim he's a right handed pacer and others say he's a left arm pacer, also what did you think of the windie spinners? right now they seem to be causing all sorts of problems for the opposition, especially Jomal Warricom and Yannic Cariah, would you say there was any players you saw that could step into the senior side in the near future like Adrian Barath has?.Back from my journey to Palmy.
Watched the WI vs Pakistan game, The guy from Pakistani who scored the century didn't greatly impress me, however he was good at nurdling the the spinners around but tried to dab every other ball behind point, which almost cost him his wicket a couple of times.
Griffiths was awesome and was striking it so cleanly, however did give an opportunity early on which was slightly over the head of mid-wicket, but deep square leg called early and was never going to get there. Braithwaite was a real treat and really did look a class above, however he really is going to be more of a test specialist imo.
Overall the fielding was poor from both sides, lots of over throws from the west indies and the pakistanis almost looked afraid to catch the ball and when they weren't they made mistakes as mentioned above.
Missed the first 10 or 15 overs, but didn't see any left armers. The spinners didn't amaze me tbh. The leg spinner needs to lower his arm and explode more at the crease, he kinda just ambled through. Braithewaite easily and I could see Griffiths playing in ODI's in a couple of years, he was very good on the pull and straight over the top, the sound off the bat was beuuuutiful, didnt get to see much of the other batsman. BTW Holder is HUGE and had decent pace on him, but I think Butt from Pakistan was a little quicker.Hey NZ guy a few questions if i may, were there any left arm pacers in the windies side? i've read conflicting reports about a kid named Jermaine Blackwood who is in the side, some articles claim he's a right handed pacer and others say he's a left arm pacer, also what did you think of the windie spinners? right now they seem to be causing all sorts of problems for the opposition, especially Jomal Warricom and Yannic Cariah, would you say there was any players you saw that could step into the senior side in the near future like Adrian Barath has?.
