Dilshan reportedly will fly by helicopter and land on the outfield, perhaps as late as 5 minutes before the match start.

Ridicolous, IMO.

Hope he plays more than one ****ing game.

There should be a rule that all international imports should play at least five games before they can qualify to represent that team in the Champions Trophy.

Well tbf Dilshan was going to be available for the entire tournament but the cricket boards of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh came up with the recently concluded tri-series two months after he signed.

If so, that's fine.

I just have a problem with a prima-donna player jetting over to play one game (probably getting out for a duck) then going back home and thus automatically qualifying to go to the Champions Trophy in place of some domestic-level cricketer who won't get many opportunities to test his wares on the world stage.

Case-in-point: McCullum for New South Wales last year.

That loophole should be fixed by having a minimum game rule in place.

Yea can't argue with that. Hopefully we stick to just one overseas player per team also, would hate for Simon Doull's "get three-four players if possible" to actually happen.

Seems as if he bowled well, lol. Styris' form heading the right way, aswell as Butler with 6 wickets. Like how ND are mixing up their batting order, though must be said Flynn & Marshall's roles are basically specialist fielders

So hard to take Pinga seriously when you actually watch him bat
Yeah he didn't look to flash at the start of his innings against Chris Martin, I swear his feet weren't moving at all (like I mean at all). He can hit a very long ball I'll give him that though.

He was actually on the cricket company last week I think and they were asking him about his future and the possibility of playing for New Zealand. Loved his comment about how he'd play the same way he does in domestic cricket and would look to go after the bowling, and even if he's no better then McIntosh at least he'd put some sort of pressure back on the bowlers (When he comes of and hasn't nicked out early).

A fifty for Lou Vincent today. I wouldn't mind seeing him playing at number 6 in the ODI side or even the test side. He can take that troublesome spot over. But he won't get picked for tests on the back of HRV cup action. But maybe an ODI call up is the cards. If he can keep up this form.

Hard to see a place for him in the odi team, unless Ryder is still injured. All the current batters have a pretty firm grip on their places, and I'm not even sure how close Vincent would be to a place, given the continued good form of the likes of Broom, Franklin, Stewart, McCullum etc. Might get a go in the 20/20 team though.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Vincent would be best in the top order if recalled to the ODI side. Opening or 3, so not all that likely to happen.

Though thinking about it, having him come in at 5 might not be such a bad idea...

Yeah as Bahnz mentioned there is not a really easy way into the side. Taylor, Oram, Vettori, Elliott etc all have precedence in the middle order ahead of him obv. As for the top order not even Guptill & Watling can get an opening birth. His only way in will be injuries or some type of rotation policy

My disdain for Vincent is well known, but even if he is playing well (by his standards) there's no place for him in limited overs, as he has only ever been of any use when opening (and slogging). We already have that very well covered with Ryder/McCullum/Guptill.

He was tried as a nurdler for a long time and just sucked so, so bad. It's all well and good being quick between the wickets, but he didn't have the shots. Definitely a "field-up" specialist.

I'd like to see him (Vincent) bought back for the test side immediately for Bangladesh/Australia TBH. I'm sick of Flynn.

1. Watling
2. McIntosh
3. Guptill/Vincent
4. Taylor
5. Vincent/Guptill
6. Franklin
7. McCullum
8. Vettori
9. Tuffey
10. Southee
11. Martin

Obviously Ryder to take the place of one of Vincent, Guptill, Franklin when he returns.

Vincent shouldn't have to play games in domestic cricket first from a selectorial POV, he can still hold a bat obviously, and brings with him a test average of 40 from 11 matches, 1 double-100, 5 fifties when not batting 1 or 2.

Flynn averaging 28.70 from 16 matches, 4 fifties, no hundreds, needs more domestic cricket time obviously. Get him out of there.

Lou Vincent playing test cricket next month, haha no thanks.
Because we're so rich in test-match batting talent right now we can afford to snub him, right? Good thing NZC have so far had the intelligence to let bygones be bygones.

What's your test team for Bang/Aus?
