State Vice-Captain
Kane Williamson coming in well down the order - is he not seen as a big hitter?

Poor Worker has had a poor season hasn't he.

Dermot Reeve accuses Ravi Bopara of ball-tampering | New Zealand Cricket News | Cricinfo.com

Does this guy ever shut up? First he accuses Northern Districts and Auckland of cheating in last weeks FC game and now he's at it again, geez. Go coach your team ffs, maybe that will help them get of the bottom part of the table.

"I would take an oath and swear on my children's lives, that I saw Ravi Bopara using his nails on the ball to help it swing," Reeve told the Dominion Post.
 OTT much. Pretty sure the umpires would do something about it if they suspected it.

Reeve has a bit of a track record of straight talking. I doubt he'd come out and say something like this without having seen something. Pretty poor form to trawl it out through the public.

Probably should have involved Chris Broad - he'd be bound to come down like a ton of bricks on someone called Bopara [/removetonguefromcheek]

Bopara is an Englishman that plays for Auckland. Obviously he's a ****. :p

Reeve was using binoculars which is always a start, means he CAN actualy see the ball close up. If he hadn't had them It would look worse for Reeves credibility. Bopara avoiding him after the match was probably silly on his part, because if he'd denied it at least he'd have denied it. Now it looks as if he has something to hide.

Doubt anything will come of this. A new round will begin and in a few months there'll be a new story, Tim Southee said I ****ed your mum according to so-so or something.

Can the officials get their hands on the ball from the game? Would be worthwhile to have a look at it.

Not sure what having binoculars has to do with anything Flem. Take the quotes of the players involved. Jamie How said there was nothing unusual, Hopkins said that it swung only into a strong wind including the spinner Roneel Hira but not down wind.

The umpires were concerned with the condition of the ball but that was because Auckland threw the ball excessively into the ground to rough it up. (seen this done hundreds of times) but it was only marginally worse than a normal ball

Plus Bopara bowled 10 overs 1-51. Hardly destroying

Dermot should stfu. He is a disgrace to the game back home and CD need an uppercut for employing this loser.

Can he not see he's running the game down? Maybe he shouldve turned those binoculars on himself and his team to find out whats going wrong

That actually helps Reeve. Why complain about someone who didn't do well unless you're sure they did something?

I read the story in the local paper ftr which mentioned binoculars, haven't clicked that link yet but presumed it was the same story shipped out to everyone..

CD should keep Reeve, he coached us to the final last year. Who cares what the other associations think of him. :p

Reeve is doing a good job. Getting the youngsters involved in the setup, that can only be good long term.

Fantastic to see Williamson finally make a major contribution - and he's just taken a wicket too, turning out to be an excellent match for the youngster.
