Checking out the Canterbury team card and to my surprise Chris Martin appears to be coming in at number 10 - one spot above someone apparent hack called Burson.

Surely no one can be worse than Martin? Hope to christ this guy can at least bowl like a champ if he is that bad with the willow.

Any idea if they Otago ND game will get go ahead?
I came on to this thread to ask the same question. Can anyone make a post about Burson. Who is he.

Corey Anderson: 5/26 in his first match, and now a 29 ball 50 in his second. These are just the kind of consistently destructive performances I've been hoping to see from for the last couple of years.

Ryan Burson? I thought he retired years ago?
Nah he's been back playing one day cricket for the last 3 seasons or so. There was a period of a few years or so when he wasn't playing domestic cricket however.

Personally I would have had O'Brien opening the bowling

EDIT:Flynn out lbw Cumming, lol

Went to Iain O'Brien's final game for Wellington today. Wellington were poor in the field and atrocious with the bat.

Dewayne Bowden was poor in the field. Letting two boundaries occur which should at worst have been singles - including letting one through his legs on the last ball of Canterbury's innings. Then threw a bit of a strop and chucked the ball into the ground. Bowled fairly well, and got his eye in pretty quickly with the bat. Left with too much to do though.

Corey Anderson was bowling okay, I suppose. Kruger van Wyk was standing well back, and he was getting decent carry - but both Luke Woodcock and Joe Austin-Smellie were able to come down the wicket with ample time to drive, so there was clearly plenty of time for the batsmen to choose their shots.

Austin-Smellie took two great catches behind the sticks. Rhodes looked okay with the ball, but out of his depth with the bat. Flashed at a couple, then shut up shop; got bogged down and ended up holing out.

Franklin looked in great touch with the bat. Smashed a massive six over deep-square off Anderson before mistiming an attempted straight-drive six next ball; straight to mid-off.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY. Iain O'Brien's last ball for Wellington uprooting Kruger van Wyk's off stump. A golden moment.

224 of 30 overs, not bad. Good to see Trent Boult open the bowling a picking up an early wicket.

Edit: Pinch hitter Tim Southee didn't do much though I see.

Auckland-CD match looks close CD need 37 off 4 overs to win. Interesting how Auckland went into the match with only 5 bowlers Bopara being the 5th
