*Official* England in South Africa

Stapel

International Regular
Yeah, I have no problem with your logic. I just can't see them bringing in a replacement mid-series. The really dumb thing was not giving themselves any options for the duration of this tour. That and not giving the tests-only players any sort of chance to get their eye in.
Which players are next in line to bat for England anyway?

Trott is making Mike Atherton look like Shahid Afridi today tbh. But as long as he stays in I don't give a ****.

The Saffers are doing a good job of preventing the Saffers from winning first up.

If Denly is going to picked then it should be Test cricket. Would personally play him instead of Cook.

As I've said previously Cook obviously has a lot of talent but it's typical England in not making much of it. England are quite happy for him to keep plodding on averaging low 40s (thanks to run feast on roads) when he should be given the time away to become a proper Test batsman by working on his flaws properly.

Can only hope that future tours are boycotted by CSA or that the ICC relegates England on the same grounds that Bangladesh should be relegated: Not being able to produce quality test players.

Also in the big international competitions they should cut out the semis and final stage so as to give SA a chance of not choking.

Can't expect SA to win anything anyway with a match fixing captain and all thier development moving abroad.

Would a house being developed, ever get completed if someone kept removing the bricks?

I can see how quotas helped cricket on the other hand :P Helped SA strategy of choking matches by handing opposition quality batsman.

All these jibes are just boring, at the end of the day it's your problem that players like Pietersen and Trott wanted to leave South Africa, not ours.

No-ball, pheeeeeeew

In fact it's a problem for world cricket when teams like Aus lose to a nation that can't even produce talent for a full team.

We pick the best players available to us, so what?

Pretty sure the talent in Pietersen and Trott comes from their English halves anyway

These players have nothing to do with England. It's not like any old monkey can walk into a national team, players need development which cost time and money and additionally keeps someone else from gettinbg that time, money and resources. If these players go overseas, then years of hard work are wasted and may have been better off being invested into someone who actually intends to play cricket for thier country.
