*Official* England in South Africa

Well firstly, they are both half-English, that's a fact

Secondly, let's take Pietersen as I'm not as familiar with Trott's tale. When he left South Africa it would be fair to say he had nowhere near realised his potential with the bat and that no-one around him had realised it either. He came to England and improved immeasurably - in fact when it's claimed that he left because of quotas this is often rubbished as he was apparently 'not good enough'. Alas, he came to England, was developed and is now one of the best batsmen in the world. There is zero claim that the English system contributed nothing towards his development.

Look, Jboss you've started your own threads on this issue, is there any chance you could keep these arguments to those threads please:)

Some of us just want to read about the cricket not the politics:)

It's my fault for responding to it tbh

Commentators asking whether there's any chance of us going for the win. Can't see it, personally

I seriously hope England do. So I can take my rant from here to CSA FB fan page. FB awesome. Dean Elgar my friend. And for some reason I went to the same school as Paul Harris in 1992 but don't remember until recently found out. We both started our cricket at Muzenberg junior school in Cape Town

Haha yeah love how Pietersen was a **** bowler who could bat a bit when he came to England, but somehow South Africa were responsible for all his development.

England launching a little bit of a fightback here, good to see KP reassert his place as one of England's top all time batsman - he really is that good.

Well, I guess if you have KP in there it's always possible, he could go mental for an hour, and everything could change. Also it's been a noticable factor in this match the bowlers tiring.

Not really realistic though, will be perfectly happy with a draw.

So you think an international player is developed in 2 or 3 years?
Yeah, you're right. I've always wondered why players don't mention their secondary school PE teachers when accepting awards for sporting achievements.

Credit to Pietersen, because he's one of a very small group of players who I think could actually help win this game.

Trott is playing a great knock too, awesome cricketer.

Great 50 from Trott. Worked hard for that, just needs to maintain his conversion rate now :p

Kallis on to bowl.

*sighs*

Can't think this is a very clever move by the Saffies, Kallis looking as threatening as Ronnie Irani, and surely a chance of aggravating his injury.

Just over 5 an over needed but Saffa bowling a couple of maidens here. Been a good session for us. The batsmen have looked in control for the most part :)
