*Official* England in South Africa

Hmm England moving ahead of SA in terms of odds. 13 to 17 respectively.

Obviously someone is banking on Morkel bowling a load more no-balls.

Still have to factor in the new ball will do a lot more than an old ball on this pitch. Plus England's ability to hand innocuous bowlers wickets just before said new ball.

The draw is very short though.

The bowlers will be quite tired by the time the new ball is available.

It's certainly not a ridiculous chase. Pietersen is capable of chasing this down for us with support, and with Collingwood next man in I say bring it on.

Blah they'd have bowled what 15 overs apiece or thereabouts before the new ball?

Nowt really. Particularly if England are 5-6 down and the ball restarts misbehaving, should get a bit of adrenalin going round.

Trott is playing a great knock too, awesome cricketer.
Indeed. Does rather make one wonder why it's taken quite so long to get him into the set-up. Capable of scoring quickly and playing a proper dogged test innings. No disrespect to Shah or Bopara, but he looks cut above to me.

I do wonder if it was partly Vaughan's doing after Trott played two T20Is a couple of years ago. He (Vaughan) has made one or two disparaging comments about Trott in the press since. Seems to have gone straight from test player to curmudgeon, has Mick.

Not Terrible
Trott to anchor and turn the strike while Pietersen plays a few strokes and see how it goes over 15 overs or so. (If Collingwood comes in he plays the role of whoever he replaces)

England should at least have a toy with the idea of a win, pretty far away though.

Review. Looked to be going down leg.

No ball anyway.

Edit : Wasn't a no ball then.
Edit : Next ball, edged but fell short.

I take back all the thing I've said attacking posters going on about our South Africanness. That run out was straight out of South Africa

Cannot stand Vaughan in retirement. Worst post-retirement player. Needs to stfu.

Ha, love that. Nass involved in 9 run outs in tests, only one of which resulted in his dismissal. KP not exactly the best runner either, as amply demonstrated here.

de Wet seriously nippy, isn't he? Looks to have something about him.

Would they retain him ahead of Ntini or Morkel?
