God, Nethula bowls a crap load of no balls for a leggie.
Sometimes when your rythym goes it just goes.

I think when I see Nethula play I'll love him;seems to be the typical attacking but still developing leggie. Result: its always interesting.

Leg spin is the hardest art to master. So that question really can't be answered.
Yeah, and maybe when he's 40 we'll still be asking......

Nah but seriously, I know there have been a few cases of legspinners only maturing in their 30s, but not in recent years

Yeah he is reaching the now or never age in the next few years if he wants a truly full test career but I think we should keep an eye on him. The alternative is a couple of so-so offspinners in Patel and McCullum (sorry Athers and DingDong).

Love Robbie Schaw as well. When he's on song he's great to watch. One of my favourite spinners wickets ever was a ball to some ND batsman (I think it was a Marshall twin) in a limited overs match which was awesome (you probably won't know the ball, basically it was a leg break that owned him).

Definitely

Nethula spins it and has a wrong-un, which pretty much puts him above all the other options on potential

McGain tbh.
Yeah, but

(a) wasn't McGain like a social cricketer or something, who only started taking cricket seriously later in life? ftr, Nethula has been a serious leg-spinner since forever. Bowled at the Black Caps in the 1999/2000 season to prepare them for Warne.

(b) McGain suxored anyway right?

a) Nah not really, he just never got picked.

b) Well, nah, tbh. Played one Test and got smashed, yeah, but it's hardly a fair sample size, particularly since he'd been out injured for ages just before it. He's still far and away the best spinner in Australian domestic cricket, which isn't something you'd have predicted when he was 26.

Two seasons ago Nethula couldnt even get a bowl for his club team. So not sure where the 10 years of ripping them down came from? He mightve been trying to bowl em but not as seriously as now

Rubbish. According to his coach he had been knocking on the door for a few season's before he made his first-class debut.

Maybe it was for his batting then

200 for Luke Woodcock and 78 for Ili Tugaga of 218 balls, what a effort. I was impressed with Tugaga when he played against ND a few weeks back, and given that he can hang around he might prove to be a bloody good player in the future.

Woodcock and Tugaga only need another 50 odd to get the all-time 9th wicket partnership record in FC cricket.

Sensational partnership between Woodcock and Tugaga for Wellington. I'd noticed that Woodcock's batting had been very consistent this season prior to the match against CD so not entirely unexpected to see him cash in with a massive score. Tugaga's ton is completely out of the blue though.

Mostly due to Brodie, Merchant and Woodcock, was pretty nervous when the first two were gone for not very much.
