Was always gonna be a run out once the comms wrapped the running (which had been excellent).

Gotta say, although he's gone for plenty today, jeez Hauritz has improved as a bowler. Good on him.

Agree, generally hes had good control and getting new found turn. Hes produced some good balls today but has been a bit short or full a bit too much.

Thing was, there was the Challenger Series played here earlier where a match was badly effected by dew if I am not wrong. So there was more skeptisim. Also, both teams are lined with good batsmen. So on this wicket you can fancy chasing 290-300. There was a fair bit of confusion of what they should do before the toss. I would have batted too but both captains were intent on bowling first.

Whatever it takes!!!
No, I reckon he'll get sorted tbh. Smells of FTB, but if he proves me wrong good on him. Personally think he's a **** who's attitude is about 10000 test runs ahead of his status in the game. Katich should have dropped him like a bad habit.

OT, how old's this stadium? Looks fantastic.
Given that Katich was the one who initiated it, I think he definitely deserved what he got and I thought Watson got away with very less stuff... Would have loved to have seen Gambhir smash the guy across his face.. Plus being small doesn't exactly mean you are gonna end up knocked out in a fight.. Esp. if the opposing end is weak knee Watson.. :p

Regarding your apprehension about India - Yuvraj, Gambhir or Dhoni needs to bat through the inning. That looked grim but when I analyzed it closely, Dhoni averages 70 with the bat this year. I don't think Australia are favourites by any means.
Dhoni's average increases ater this inning! Was in superb form in the domestic Challenger Trophy as well. Awesome.

Was it Watson he elbowed? I thought it was Katich. Needed a flogging for doing it anyway. Can't be doing that on a cricket field.

Generally I'd be tipping a wet paper bag vs Gambhir tbh.

****house over this from Johnson. Fine hitting from Dhoni though.

So we're expecting 24(minimum) deliveries from Hilfenhaus and Watson. How many runs scored from them?

He elbowed Watto after Watto made to hold his arm out to catch him and then appeared to think better of it and pulled it away. With Katich they were just majorly in each others faces, Katich doing his hairy monster thing.

Interesting that Ponting's going for Watson and Hilfenhaus at the death. I suppose he doesn't have many options though.

Strange that Johnson has only taken one wicket, he usually takes more even if he goes for loads.

I would wager even for Watson's shadow against Watson though...

And anyways, Watson is a million times worse than Gambhir in terms of conduct.. He behaves as if he is Sobers.. At least Gambhir is only 1000 runs above. :p

Watson needs to get it cleared up that doing and saying the right stuff after the incidents is not gonna get him off the hook all the time.. not even the fact that he is an Aussie is gonna help...

The same thing Clarke saw in the SCG sheds...

Can't ever recall seeing a player bat like Dhoni before. Nice way to get a ton too. Fine knock this.

Closest I've seen was Ijaz with that woodchopping style of his, but even he wasn't that close. Dhoni better to watch imo, but just different to most anyone I've ever seen before.
